Lily's pov
I tossed and turned,not able to fall asleep.daddy was right,sleeping on tour is difficult.I sat up and rubbed my eyes,I looked to my right and saw mommy asleep in bed.but daddy wasn't next to her,I looked across from me and saw daddy rocking Toni.could she not sleep either?I mean she is a baby,I crawled out of bed and walked towards daddy and Toni.as he gently placed her back down in her portable crib he jumped a bit when he saw me,"Lily bear,you scared me."he whispered."I can't sleep daddy."I confessed,he sighed."you too huh?"i nodded,"it's ok Lily,how bout we go for a little drive?"he suggested."but what about mommy and Toni?"he lifted me up,"they'll be ok,"he replied."besides mommy knows I can't sleep sometimes."he added,I held onto him as he carried me out of the hotel room.
No one's pov
Lily swung her legs back and forth as she sat on the bench with her dad,eating what she considered to be a midnight snack from McDonald's.as they ate,Lily couldn't help but to stare out into the busy city."daddy?"Chris looked at his child as her curious eyes looked around,she looked at her dad with her big blue eyes."why do you do this?"Chris widened his eyes,that was a question he never thought he'd ever hear."woah..."he trailed off,"geez kiddo,that's a big question even for you."he pointed out.Lily was only 5,but she always had questions and would always say them to either her mom or dad or any of her aunts and uncles.
"It's just that...you and mommy seem to really like music,and so does everyone we know.but do you do it for fun?"Chris hesitated for a moment,thinking about what to say.he gently grabbed her and sat her up on his lap,"well Lily,we don't just do it for fun."he began."then why do you do it daddy?why do any of you do it?"he smiled,she was just like her mother:smart and open minded."we do it to entertain people."she tilted her head in confusion,"sometimes Lily...people live in bad homes,sometimes they feel upset and feel that no one can help them."he began to explain."like uncle Layne?"she asked,he nodded."music helps everyone,even us:that's why we do it,so that people feel like they belong with a proper family."Lily was mesmerized,she didn't realize that music was so strong.
"Daddy?"
"Yes pumpkin?"
