"Mommy I don't wanna go!I wanna keep going on tour!"Lily whined,"tour's over baby,"I reminded her."plus you need an education."she pouted her lip,struggling to escape my grasp.I've been dreading this day for a while,Chris has too,but we both knew it would eventually come:the day Lily would have to start elementary school."sweetie don't worry,"i crouched down to her height,"I have a little gift for you that'll help."I dug into my purse and pulled out a teddy bear that looked a bit like Chris.her face lit up,"it looks like daddy!"she exclaimed as she grabbed it.I smiled and stood up,"and look what happens when you hug it."I encouraged.she gently squeezed the bear,"I love you Lily bear."Chris' voice came out of the bear.
She gasped as her eyes widened and stars appeared,"woah!how did it do that mommy?"she asked eagerly."you know that bear shop you kept begging me to take you?"i said,"Build a Bear?"i nodded.she then frowned,"you and daddy went without me?"she asked.I widened my eyes and gulped,"well-"she cut me off."that's not fair mommy."I sighed,"how bout this,"I put my hands on her shoulders,"if you go to school,I promise that I'll take you shopping for whatever you want."she gasped."really?"she asked excitedly,her face lighting up.I smiled and nodded,she hugged my neck.I gently hugged her back,"alright it's time to go."i said as I gently pulled away and stood up.
At the Cornell house...
Laci's pov
When I entered the house,I noticed it was quiet.I also noticed a trail of rose petals leading into the backyard,I smiled and blushed."oh Chris..."I whispered,putting my bag down.after I locked the front door I followed the trail of petals,making my way to the backyard.I slid open the sliding door and saw Chris preparing a table that he set up under the gazebo,I smiled and watched him as I leaned against the frame.when he turned around he saw me and smiled,"sweetheart!"he rushed towards me."wheres Toni?"I asked as he kissed my cheek,"I'm making Eddie and Beth,they'll also pick up Lily after school for us."he replied.he gently grabbed my hand and led me to the table he set up,"Chris this is so beautiful."i said as we sat down.He lovingly looked at me,I blushed.
"What?"he chuckled,"just thinking back to the night we first met."he replied.I smiled,"how could I ever forget that day?"I chuckled."god...I was so shy,I didn't even think you'd talk to me."he grabbed my hands,"meeting you was the best thing that's ever happened to me,if you weren't in my life I..."he began to tear up."I don't know where I'd be."I could feel myself getting emotional,"oh Chris..."I got up and went around.I sat down on his lap and cupped his cheek,"I love you so much."I said.he gently kissed my neck,"I love you more."he whispered.
