"Chris please wake up."i slowly opened my eyes, feeling someone shaking me. It was Laci, she had a worried look on her face. I immediately shot up, not even bothering to ask her what was wrong because i knew: her water broke."it's gonna be ok,it's gonna be ok."i repeated, getting deja vu of the day Lily was born. I got out of bed and quickly put some clothes on,"Remember the breathing technique, i'm gonna grab the bag and Lily."i instructed. She nodded, already doing the breathing technique she learned at a class we decided to take. I rushed out of the room, making my way to Lily's nursery.
As i grabbed the bag we prepared, Lily sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Papa?'she spoke, yawning. I immediately scooped her out of her crib."We gotta go Lily."she widened her eyes,"sis coming?"she asked.All i could do was smile and nod, she grinned excitedly. I carried her back into the room, only to see that Laci was gone. I widened my eyes, putting Lily down. "Hold on to this ok?"i handed her the bag,"I'm gonna go find mama."i said.I smiled,feeling proud."FUCK!"I heard Laci curse loudly,i widened my eyes:That came from the bathroom."I'm coming babe!"i called out, rushing towards the bathroom.
"it's gonna be ok,it's gonna be ok."i repeated in my head,I swung the door open and saw Laci in the tub:she filled it up a bit and was breathing quickly, she looked at me with fear in her eyes. "I can feel her coming Chris, i-i'm not gonna make it to the hospital."I widened my eyes, i fell to my knees and basically crawled towards her."D-Don't say stuff like that."tears began to form in my eyes, Laci managed to cup my cheek. I closed my eyes, embracing the feeling of her hand on my cheek(even though it was wet)."I-I'm gonna call an ambulance, ok?"i grabbed her hand and kissed it,"What about Lily?"she asked worryingly. "I'll call Eddie and ask him to watch her,"I assured her,"Try to stay calm, breathe."
