But now we're in Eddie's pov
Eddie's pov
Chris and I were called by Jerry to go to Layne's house.apparently Demri broke up with him and he hasn't left his apartment in weeks.as we made it up the steps,we saw the rest of the Alice In Chains band near Layne's apartment door."you weren't able to get in?"I asked Sean,he shook his head no."we tried everything."Mike Inez said,"opening the door,picking the lock,asking Layne to open the door."Jerry listed."that's why Jerry called you two,"Sean explained,"although I though you'd be bringing Laci."he admitted to Chris."yeah well she's pregnant again,and she was worrying about Layne last time she was pregnant."Chris reminded them,"yeah so if you don't mind,we would like to not rope her into this again."I explained.Chris nodded in agreement,patting my shoulder.
Sean sighed,"alright fine then,"he went close to my face."what's your grand plan then Vedder?"he spat,I angrily glared at him.Mike grabbed Sean and pulled him away from me,"calm down man."he whispered.at that moment I respected this Mike,he was a bit better then Starr.I knocked on the door,"Staley,it's me Eddie:let me in."I called out.no response,Jerry gave me a worried look.Chris sighed,"ok everyone stand back."we all widened our eyes and looked at him."you're not gonna kick down the door are you?"Sean asked,"what other choice do i have?"Chris asked."but Sadie's in there!what if you somehow hurt her?"Mike exclaimed,Sadie is Layne's cat(according to Laci she's basically the band's pet).
I sighed,"relax,I have a plan."I pulled out the Bobby pin that was in my hair and crouched down.I attempted to unlock the door with the bobby pin,thankfully it worked.I grinned as I stood up and opened the door,but the grin soon immediately faded away.we were all hit with a really strong stench,Sean and Mike almost threw up.Sadie,Layne's cat,then walked out the front door."Sadie!"Jerry exclaimed as he picked her up,he cradled her in his arms and gently kissed her head."Layne?you alive in there?"Chris called out as he entered the apartment,we all followed him inside.
