Chris' pov
"Baby's first tour!"I cheered as I recorded Laci changing Lily's diaper.we had just released the forth album,and now it was time to go on tour."I'm so excited daddy!"Laci said in a baby voice as she held Lily up to the camera,I laughed.I turned off the camera,"I'm so glad you guys are coming with us."i said."well it would be pretty boring here if we didn't come."she reminded me as she changed Lily's outfit,"pshhh,no way.you got Eddie and Beth,and don't forget Layne and Demri."i said.she flinched,"did I say something wrong?"I asked in a concerned tone."no it's just..."she sighed,"I'm worried about Layne and Demri."i said.I didn't say anything,"have you tried talking to them?"i asked.she looked at me,"they've been to rehab several times."she said.
March,1994(according to Wikipedia Chris strained his vocal cords in May but I decided to add it early on because why not,listen:I've been trying to make this fic accurate.it's very tiring,and I won't be doing this for my other grunge fics)
Laci's pov
I paced around the room,holding Lily in my arms.she babbled as she tried to eat her fist,a doctor was currently giving Chris a checkup.Matt,Ben,and Kim were all sitting and waiting.The doctor finally entered the room,"how is he?"I asked worryingly."not too well Laci,he's severely strained his vocal cords."he explained,we all widened our eyes."shit..."I whispered,"thanks for letting us know."Kim said."can we see him?"Matt asked,"yes,but please try not to talk to him that much."the doctor said."we understand,we don't want him to strain his vocal cords even more."Ben said,"I'm gonna have to cancel the shows for this month..."I sighed."we'll try talking to Chris."Kim assured me,"come on Lily let's go see your daddy!"Matt said as she took Lily from my arms.

Laci's pov
I tried to keep it together as I held Chris' arm and followed Dave and Krist.

Tears slipped down my cheeks,I was sad and upset at the same time.I could've done something,and on top of that I'm now scared.
What if the same thing happens to Layne?or Demri?
I can't lose any more of my friends!
