Chapter 1

Something bad is 'bout to happen to me
I don't know it, but I feel it coming
Might be so sad, might leave my nose running
I just hope she don't wanna leave me

Laci's pov
"Oh come on Laci,it'll be fun!"my friend Stevie said,we had just recently graduated high school and my friends(Stevie and Brianna)wanted to celebrate by going to a bar."I dunno guys..."I trailed off,"oh come on Laci,we're not in high school anymore!we can do whatever we want!"Brianna said.I glared at her,"ok we can't do certain things but we can still have fun!"she said."yeah Laci come on."Stevie said,I sighed."ok fine,but how are we supposed to get into the bar anyway?"I asked,"we're not 21."I pointed out."leave it to Stevie."he said,Brianna squealed."this'll be so much fun!"she exclaimed,I faked a smile but deep down I had a weird feeling about this.I mean,what if we get caught?but it's like what Stevie for some reason always says,"you only live once Laci,so start living your life!"

Brianna forced me to wear something nice,even though I kept saying that I wanted to dress like Stevie.see,I don't like wearing feminine clothes that much.Luckily Stevie saw the outfit Brianna made me wear and fixed it himself,letting me borrow some of his clothes."ah come on Stevie!why did you have to fix my hard work?"Brianna whined,"because you clearly keep purposely forgetting that she's not like you."Stevie said.Brianna sighed,"whatever,let's go!I wanna get drunk!"she said.I gulped,"come on Laci let's go."Stevie said.as we left our apartment I could tell at that moment that there was no turning back,when we arrived at the bar I felt thrown off:it wasn't like any other bar I've ever seen,most bars don't have bands performing.

A chill went up my spine,"who was that singing?"I thought.Brianna and Stevie already went to the bar,but I was too focused on the sound of an angel singing.I pushed through some people who were standing and watching,getting a better view of the band.

I was absolutely mesmerized,this guy is amazing!and the music sounds wonderful!I didn't realize how long I was staring at him until we locked eyes,I blushed and quickly looked away."holy shit holy shit holy shit!"I thought,I quickly looked up and at him.

"He's still singing,that's good.maybe he didn't notice me?"I thought,suddenly he looked at me this time.I blushed,I tried to look away but I couldn't.he smiled at me,I felt like my heart was gonna beat out of my chest.

He kept his eyes on me,not once looking away or looking at his guitar.

I was the first one to start clapping when the song ended,soon everyone else began to clap and cheer."Laci!there you are!come on,let's go drink."Brianna said,grabbing my wrist and trying to lead me away."B-But-"I stuttered,"no buts!"she cut me off.the guy look sad as I was being dragged away,Brianna stood me in front of the bar."Brianna I told you not to bring her here,and besides it looked like she was having fun."Stevie said,seeing how uncomfortable I was."oh come on Stevie!"she whined,"she needs to live a little!isn't that what you always say?"she asked,"yeah,when she knows that she needs to do something and not chicken out."Stevie growled.I could tell that they were about to argue,so I snuck off before things could get ugly.

I ran off,hiding behind a wall.I sighed,rubbing my eyes."you don't look 21."I heard someone say,the same chill went up my spine.I uncovered my eyes and saw that it was the guy!I blushed,"I-I'm not."I replied honestly.he raised an eyebrow,seeming impressed that I was being so honest with him."How'd you get in?"he asked,"With a fake ID,"I replied."please don't tell anyone.it wasn't even my idea,it was my friends idea."I begged,"Woah,woah,woah,calm down.it's ok,I won't tell anyone."he assured me.I was shocked,"You won't?"I asked."Nah,"he replied,"besides how would I get to know you if you were kicked out?"he asked.

I blushed,"he's right,plus I really want to get to know him too."I thought."So what's your name?"he asked,"Laci,"I replied."what's your name?"I asked,"Chris."he replied."you like Nirvana?"he asked,pointing at my tank top."O-Oh!this is my friend Stevie's."I said,I then immediately realized that we were wearing the same tank top."well you should really listen to them,they're a good band."he suggested,"I uh...don't own that much music."I admitted."woah,we were meant to meet.I can tell that you'll like grunge music."he said,"grunge music?"i said.he nodded,"hey Chris,we gotta go."the guitarist from his band said."alright Kim,just give me a sec though ok?"Chris said to him,Kim nodded and walked off.

He sighed in annoyance,"wish I didn't have to go,we were just getting to know each other."he complained.I didn't say anything for a moment,"you only live once Laci,so start living your life!"Stevie's words echoed in my head.I sighed,"I can't believe I'm gonna do this."I thought."I can come with you,"I suggested,"I-If you want me to!"I quickly added.he blushed,"really?"he asked.I blushed and nodded,he smiled."that would be amazing!"he exclaimed,"but what about your friends?"he asked.I gulped,"they'll be fine,besides they're always telling me to starting living my life."I replied."well then,you're in for a ride."he said with a grin,he grabbed my hand and led me down the hall.I blushed even harder,"I can't believe I'm doing this!"I thought.
