"I'll get it,it's probably the takeout I ordered for us."i said,getting up."takeout?"his face lit up,"ok it's official:you're the best wife ever."he said.I blushed and smiled,I walked up the basement steps and towards the front door.I opened it:revealing Eddie holding a bag of takeout."I convinced the guy to let me take it,mind if I come in?"he said,"I-uh-sure."i said.I grabbed the bag from him and let him in,"nice place you got."I heard him say as I took the bag to the kitchen."Chris!Food's here!"I called out,"and it looks like it brought a guest."I mumbled."Laci...we should probably talk."he said,I heard Chris' footsteps."fuck yeah fo-"he cut himself off when he saw Eddie,"oh,Vedder."he said as he crossed his arms.
"Relax Cornell,I just wanna talk to my sister."he said,"hey!for your information Laci here is a Cornell too,so anything you have to say to her you can say in front of me too."Chris said."boys,boys,let's calm down."i said,putting my manger skills to the test.I walked towards Chris,"Chris honey I'm going to talk to Eddie in my office,is that ok?"I asked him.he looked at Eddie and then at me,he sighed."ok,but only because I trust you.and also,I'm really fucking hungry."he said,I smiled."your egg rolls are in there."i said,kissing his cheek.he smiled,he walked off to the kitchen.I looked at Eddie,who stood there awkwardly.
"Let's talk."
Eddie's pov
I looked around Laci's office while she quickly organized her desk,"nice office."i said."yeah,I do my best to make it look nice even though it'll look the same when we're touring again."she explained,"you go on tour?"I asked."yeah,duh.it would be pretty boring if I just stayed home."she replied,"fair enough I guess."I said.she sat behind her desk,I sat in front of it."Lac...I uh,wanted to apologize."i said,"clearly."she pointed out."huh?"i said,feeling confused."why else would you be here Eddie?to befriend my husband?Cause he'd still be your friend,he wants everyone to be his friend it's what makes him so lovable.also,you guys are technically brothers-in-law."she said,I couldn't help but to laugh.
"Well,you are making some good points.but I'm serious Laci,what I did what shitty.I know that,you know that.and for a while I wanted to try to forget what happened,but Jeff and Stone seemed to really like you as a manager so they convinced me to apologize.truth is,I am really fucking sorry."I began to tear up,"I know that nothing i say can fix anything but,I am sorry Lac.you're my little sis,I should've been nicer to you.I was always nicer to you,and now look at me."I laughed as tears streamed down my cheeks."I'm a fucking asshole..."I said,looking down.
I heard her chair move,I sobbed as I felt her hug me."shhh,shhh,it's ok."she whispered,i grabbed onto her arms as I hugged her back."Maybe you should stay for dinner,"she suggested,"unless Chris' gobbled up all the food already."she joked.I laughed,"you think so?"I asked.I looked at her,noticing that tears were also streaming down her cheeks."yeah,definitely."she replied,I hugged her again."I missed you Eddie."she admitted,"I missed you too Laci,so fucking much."I admitted.
