Being home was nice. It was really nice. I could sleep without waking up to machines beeping, nurses 'just checking up' on me, and the smell of cleaner.
Daisy kept me comapany when no one was home. Travis was always with me ninety percent of the time making sure i was safe and felt alright. I cherished that more than he'll ever know.
I shaved my head. It was an impulse decision, really. I donated all the hair i could, and then the rest was gone. I wore a beanie for a few days, until i got the nerve to go to a wig store. The lady that helped me pick one was very nice. She actually picked one that matched my old hair. She put highlights in it and cut it to how i liked it. I was very thankful.
I ended up going to prom. Savannah, Cassadee, and I rented a limo and took Jack, Rian, and Travis with us. I'm glad i ended up going. I had a fantastic night while taking it easy. Who would have thought that one week after brain surgery i would go to prom? I sure didn't.
The next weekend, i graduated. I've never felt more proud of myself. My parents were even there. Travis sat next to them with his mom and Danny. After the ceremony, i was surprised with a group hug and a party at my house.
My parents didn't take it personal when i told them i was moving out. Travis wanted me to move in with him and i couldn't say no.
I spent the next few months taking it easy and finishing my record. It's coming out next month and i couldn't be any more excited.
I'm also doing shows again. As soon as the record drops, i'm going back on tour. It was a long recovery process, but was worth taking it easy in the end.
Today, I turn nineteen. I'm currently at Travis'-or should i say our house--Danny moved out a month ago--and we're having a birthday party.
"Megan! Time to open all your shit!" Jack yelled over the crowd of people and i made my way to the living room and sat down.
"Where's Travis?" I looked around.
"IDK. Probably taking a piss, have you seen the size of his bladder?"
"Did you really just say that?" I laughed.
"Yes! Now open! I wanna see the cool shit you got!" Everyone stood around me as i opened some of my presents. After every present i opened i scaned the room for Travis. He was no where to be found.
"Stop looking for loverboy and finish!"
"Jack, i'm starting to think that you're distracting me."
"Why the hell would you think that? I have the attention span of a five year old with ADD."
"Yeah.. I guess you're right." I went back to opening the last of the gifts.
When i finally finished opening them all, Danny and Travis showed up laughing.
"About time you showed up." I glared.
"Dammit! Did i miss the presents?" Travis asked.
"Yes." I frowned.
"Oh, well," He held out his hand which held an envelope, "Here's mine."
I slowly reached out and took it. I examined the outside and found a ticket on the inside. It was a ticket to see The Click Five, my favorite band.
"Travis, they broke up a few months ago.. Did you get scammed into buying these?"
"What? Really?! Dammit." He frowned.
"It's the thought that counts, though. Thank you." I stood up and embraced him before pecking his lips.
The doorbell rang. Travis grabbed me and went to go get it. He looked at me funny and slowly opened the door.
