BEEP BEEP. I hit the snooze button on my alarm clock as i do every morning. Its the day of the talent show. I put on a lime green shirt, skinny jeans, and my pair of lime green converse. I grabbed my guitar, got in my car, and headed to school.
I headed to the Gym. The talent show would take up most of the day so we dont really have school today. I was number 7 and Drew was 20. I was tuning my guitar when Savannah came over.
"Megan!"
"Hey Savannah!"
"Are you doing the song you told me about?"
"Yes." I took a deep breath. This song would determine if Drew really liked me or not.
"Good Luck. Oh! And remember POSITIVITY!" She smiled and ran to go get her seat.
I was next. My heart was pumping, I could feel the adrenilane in my veins.
"Lets do this." I said.
"Next is Megan Jennings! Shes going to be singing an original song she wrote herself called 'Perfect Two'! Give it up for Megan!" The announcer said.
I walked out on stage with my guitar in hand and sat down. I smiled. I could see Drew in the crowd. I got my lucky guitar pick out of my pocket and started to strum away.
"You can be the peanut butter to my jelly. You can be the butterflies i feel in my belly. Dont know if i could ever be with out you boy cause you complete me. I know in time that we'll both see that your the one for me. We're the perfect two."
Everyone clapped and i smiled. I stood up and started to leave when i spied Drew in the crowd. He wasnt clapping. My smile faded and it felt like i was dying in the inside. I walked off stage and put my guitar down. I ran to the bathroom and hid in a stall. I guess it was never meant to be, me and Drew. Drew and me. Savannah ran in the bathroom and demanded that i open the stall. I did.
"Whats wrong?! Whose ass am i going to kick!?" She said.
"Nothing, no ones." I was still crying.
"I wasn't born yesterday Megan. Whats wrong?"
"Drew."
"What about him?"
"When i was done singing, i looked up and he wasnt clapping. He looked disapointed or something." I cried harder.
"C'mon Megan. Stop crying. I hate it when you cry. Lets go watch the rest of the performers."
"Ok." I wiped my tears.
I walked out of the bathroom with Savannah. We headed back to the Gym and sat in the back.
"Next is Drew Ryan Scott! Hes going to be singing an original he wrote himself called 'What I Really Want To Say'" The anouncer exclaimed. I looked down.
"What a prick." Savannah said.
He walked over to the piano sitting in the middle of the stage and started to play.
"I say I dont care, but it makes me crazy when your not there. I say i dont need you next to me. I said i dont need your touch. I said I dont you dont mean to much. I said this love dont mean a thing. What i really want to say is you stay on my mind and i die everytime your not around me. What i really want to show you is whats in my heart, but i stop when i start. I keep it locked inside me. What i really want to do is just scream it out loud, get the message through. What i really want to say is 'I Love You'"
Every one started to clap and stand up except me and Savannah, who was about ready to kick Drews ass. He started to smile and i realized why i feel in love with him when i first saw him in 7th grade. His smile faded and he walked off stage. He was the last performer. Everyone started to leave except Savannah and I. I wanted to leave last. The Gym was empty when Drew walked over to us.
"What the hell do you want?" Savannah said.
"To talk to Megan." Drew replied.
"Why do you care?"
"Cause I really want to talk to her."
"Fine. Im watching you pretty boy." Savannah walked outside.
"Thats a nice song you wrote Drew." I said. " You probably wrote it for someone you care about."
"I did." My heart sank.
"Shes really lucky to have a guy like you."
"You are lucky."
"What?"
"Megan, when i moved here in 7th grade, i wasnt too happy about it. I didn't want to leave my friends and my hometown. But then i came to LA. Everything changed when i saw you."
"Then why didnt you clap for me when i poured my heart out in the song i wrote?!"
"I didnt know that you liked me back."
"How did you know that i was singing about you?"
"All the lime green your wearing." He smiled. "So."
"So." I replied back.
"Would you be my girlfriend?" He smiled.
"Yes!" I hugged him. He looked into my eyes, and cupped my face. And then our lips softly touched for the first time. I bit my lip.
"Lets blow this popsicle stand shawty!" He said. I smiled as I took his hand. We walked out the doors hand in hand without a care in the world. We spotted Savannah by the front door. She lifted one of her eyebrows.
"I leave you alone for five minutes and your together?!" Savannah said.
"Yep." I smiled.
"Whatever makes you happy Megs. Oh and Drew I have a blackbelt in Tai-Kwan-Do and im not afraid to use it." I laughed and Drew looked a tad scared.
We walked over to Drews car.
"Where are we going?" I smiled.
"I was thinking Panera. What you you think?" He said.
"Megan, your my ride home." Savannah said. I threw her my car keys. She ran off to my car in joy.
"DONT BREAK ANYTHING!" I screamed.
"Then there was two." Drew smiled showing his beautiful teeth. We jumped in his car and drove off to Panera.
