"Where were you!?" Savannah shouted walking over to Drew.
"What do you mean?" Drew answered.
"Don't fuck with me Scott. It took everything i had to not kick your ass when she fell at YOUR house and got amnesia! Now answer my question!"
"I was right here, Savannah. I was talking to Jayk."
"Instead of comforting your girlfriend? You know she was crying right? On her birthday? But you wouldn't know. You were here talking."
"What?"
"Don't tell me you didn't see her run to me. She was talking to you when she got that text!"
"I didn't know..."
"Of course you didn't. Im sick and tired of her crying over you. If shes really your girlfriend, you would've been there. But you weren't."
"I'm sorry!"
"Save it Drew. Im not the one you should be apoligizing to."
Savannah left to find Megan again. She ran outside to see Megan shaking and crying with Travis there comforting her and hugging her. If anyone was to be with Megan, Savannah sure wanted it to be Travis.
Savannah walked over slowly, with the tissues she promised to get. Thats why she left Megan outside in the first place, but she ran into Drew and had to tell him off.
"Here Megs. Blow your nose."
"Thanks Sav. Love you."
"You too kid. Call me if you need anything." Savannah replied hugging her. She hugged Travis next and whispered in his ear, "Thank you so much."
She walked off leaving Travis and Megan alone on the sidewalk.
"Um. Want me to take you home?"
"No. Everyone is sleeping over and i don't feel like talking to anyone." She sniffled her nose.
"Well, um, if you wanted to, we could, um, go to my house?" Travis asked nervously.
"That sounds fine Trav. But can we go now? Im ready to sleep."
"Um Yeah. Just let me text Danny. He has to ride with Hunter now."
"Whats so bad about that?"
"Hunter drives like a mad man. I dunno how Drew handles it."
Megan smiled as they walked over to Travis' truck.
"Oh. Here." Travis opened the door for her.
"Thanks Trav."
The ride to Travis' house was silent except for the radio which was ironicly playing Check Yes, Juliet.
"You're so close to the ocean, it's crazy."
"I love it. I surf any time i can."
"I bet. You need to teach me someday!"
"You don't know how to surf?"
"I can barely swim, what makes you think i can surf?"
"And you trust me?"
"Um..yeah. I don't trust a lot of people when it comes to water or swimming so be lucky."
Travis once again opened the door and led Megan inside his house. It was about the same size as hers. But his was way more modern.
"Can i borrow some pajamas?"
"Yeah. Sure. Follow me."
Travis led her upstairs to what Megan had guessed was his room. He rummaged through some drawers and found two pairs of pajama pants. She picked the striped ones and headed off to the bathroom to change. Travis changed quickly in his room and went to go find an extra blanket cause he figured he would just sleep on the couch for the night. By the time he had returned Megan was fast asleep. The red head wandered over to tuck her in and then proceeded to turn the lights off. He saw her turn and stir around.
"Travis?"
"Yeah. Its me."
"Don't leave me please.. Can you stay?"
"Y-Yeah. Of course."
He walked over to the other side of his bed and climbed in. He shut his eyes and tried to fall asleep, but was woken up a few minutes later to Megan who turned over in her sleep and laid on Travis' chest. He scratched at his arms, thankful that he had wore long sleeves, and contiplated on putting then around her. He tried to sleep but with no prevail thanks to his insomnia. He gave in to the demands in his head and wrapped his arms around her, and suddenly almost like a miracle, Travis got some sleep.
He woke up the next morning dazed and confused. He actually slept through the night for once. He usually woke up several times and never got over 5 hours of sleep. But not this time. This time his arms were draped around Megan and she was sleeping on his chest. When did she get here? What time was it? He glanced over at the bedside table which held his alarm clock. 10:14. Now back to the original question. When did she get here? Oh, right. Last night wasn't a dream, it actually happened. This would usually be something in his dreams, but she doesn't have a boyfriend. And they are happily married with two children watching him sing his heart out on stage.
Travis was sent back to reality when the girl turned on her side and returned to sleep. He used this as an excuse to get up and change into different clothes. His closet was full of long sleeve shirts, which he should really get used to wearing when people are around. He really tore up his arm yesterday. Thats why they couldn't find him. After he sang to Megan, he ran to the bathroom. He couldn't find anything to cut with so he used his nails to claw at his soft skin. He hated doing this. He hated having to hide away, he hated not being able to do everything like he used to. Now it was just...different.
He went with a light gray hoodie and some shorts. It was windy today so he would be fine with long sleeves. After letting Elvis out for his morning bathroom break, he headed to the kitchen to find something for breakfast.
He was halfway through making eggs and bacon when she stumbled downstairs next to him. Her hair was a mess, her eyes were red, and her makeup was smeared. She still looked as beautiful as the day i met her. And the fact that she was wearing my clothes made her look even better in my opinion.
"Whats for breakfast?" She tried to smile.
"I uh, i made eggs and bacon? I have milk and cereal too."
"Lucky Charms?"
"Yes. Lucky Charms."
"Good." She yawned and stretched. God, she was so beautiful.
The pan was starting to get hot, so i rolled up my sleeves and flipped the bacon over.
"Trav.."
"Yeah? Whats up?"
"Travis. What did you do to your arms?" Oh fuck.
"Oh. Elvis just got a little bothered the other day.. Thats all." She walked over to me.
"Tell me the real reason. Thats not it. Don't lie to me Travis."
"I can't."
"Travis. You can tell me anything."
I walked over to the table and sat down, rolling down my sleeves in the process. She quickly followed behind.
"Trav. I want you to know i love you. And when i said you can tell me anything, i mean anything. Thats what friends are for." He scratched at his arms at the mention of 'friends.' But she was too quick for him and caught them right before he could. She rolled up the sleeves and examined his arms, tracing every scar as lightly as she could, and placing a kiss here and there.
"Travis? Is that why you cringed when i hugged you yesterday? Your arms aren't the only place you cut were they?"
He stayed silent before nodding his head. She lifted up his shirt with no protest to the older boy studying his hips. They were just as torn as his arms. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, then enveloped the boy in a giant hug. They sat there for minutes just holding each other, neither feeling the need to let go. That is, until a phone rang. He stood up and walked into the other room to answer it.
The girl grabbed her phone and sent a text. Only one. Thats all she needed.
Megan: Danny. We need to talk about something. And soon.
She wondered what caused all of his worry. Why did he do it? Something had to be the reason. And she had a feeling that she was going to find out soon.
