After lunch the next day, Bruno and I were vibing in his room. I was sat on his bed (we washed everything don't worry) reading a book I packed into Bruno's bag and he was sat at a desk. I couldn't see what he was doing, but I didn't mind it.

We were both peacefully minding our own business and just trying to make it through the day. Nobody really asked where we went yesterday, considering Dolores kept telling them we were kissing in the woods. It was a little embarrassing, but it could've been worse if his room actually wasn't soundproof.

I stopped being able to focus on the book, so I closed it and looked at my boyfriend on the other side of the room. "Bruno?" I called to him, waiting for him to turn and look at me. Once he did, I moved to sit on the edge of the bed. "You can always say no to this, but do you think... maybe... you could look into my future?"

"Why would you wanna do that?" He asked me back, turning back around and avoiding me.

I stood up and walked over to him, placing my arms onto his shoulders. "Because I'm curious, and you know how I am when I'm curious."

He just sighed at looked at me with an unreadable expression. "You have to promise me one thing."

"Of course, name your demands." I jokingly bowed and giggled. When I looked up, he was angry.

"I'm serious." I stood back up and waited for him to continue his request. "You cannot leave me after, no matter how bad it is. A-and you can't blame me if it's bad either!" His angry features diminished and were slowly replaced with sad ones.

I crossed my arms and leaned into his face. "What did I say yesterday? Even if you see the day I die, I'm not leaving you. It's my life, you're just telling me what I'm in for." I gently grasped his hands and kissed his knuckles, giving him a kind smile and another kiss on the forehead.

"Alright... alright... yeah, okay. But if I do see you die I'm not showing you." He stuttered, standing up and taking my hand. "Come on, there's a lot of stairs and I don't want to miss dinner tonight."

I playfully smacked his shoulder and we made our way to the staircase. My eyes slowly traveled up the wall, head titled back just to take it all in. It was a lot higher in real life.

I heard Bruno laugh beside me and my head shot to look at him. "Sometimes I forget you haven't been here." He started walking to them and I stumbled following him. "If you get tired, hop on my back and I'll carry you the rest of the way." He turned to wink at me.

"Oh my gosh- my hero!" I jokingly praised him, clasping his hand between my own. We shared a laugh and made the long trek to the top.

After a few minutes of trudging up the steps, I started to feel out of breathe. I looked up at Bruno, who was a few stairs ahead of me, and saw he was still going strong. I tried to calm my breathing and power through, considering there wasn't many stairs left to go. He turned to look at me, stopping while he was ahead to wait for me. "Are you getting tired? Do you need me to carry you?"

I knew he wasn't teasing me at this point, but my competitiveness wouldn't let him. I swiftly shook my head. We stood there for a hot minute as I caught my breath. As soon as I was back to normal, I insisted on continuing.

He nodded and held my hand, going the rest of the way right next to me. Once we got to the landing, he assisted me over the rickety wooden bridge. "I put this in to further discourage people from coming in here. Along with... everything else." He explained as we got to the entrance.

When we walked into the cave, I was greeted to cryptid carvings of Bruno along the walls. There were pots lined along the shelves full of sand. Some were tipped over and a few were broken. If Bruno himself were not with me, I would've been thoroughly freaked out. He opened up the large door ahead of us, holding it open until we both entered. "Is it also supposed to be spooky as discouragement?" I asked him as he shut the door behind us.

"Aha-um, yeah. Making people think I'm creepy sometimes works. Other people are usually too focused on getting what they want to pay attention to it." He sat down on one side of the sand circle, gesturing for me to join him. "Any specific requests?" He asked as he set up the five burning piles.

"Don't tell me about any surprises, like proposals or marriages or anything." He absently grinned as I said marriage, but he nodded regardless and lit the small piles aflame.

"You're going to want to hold on then, the wind is quite strong." I placed my hands in his and held tight. His eyes drifted shut and the wind indeed picked up. The sand spun around us and created a dome shape. The air blew Bruno's hair to the side along with everything else within the dome.

As I looked at him, his eyes opened and glowed a bright green. Like he had two gems as eyes. "Well? What do you see?"

"You'll have to wait, everything playing is stuff you asked not to see." He shouted over the wind. "I'll tell you when- Oh!"

"What?" I asked, getting ready to turn around and see what he's looking at. He quickly held my face and I saw a slight red tint on his cheeks.

"No- no, just wait a little longer." He instructed with a wide smile. I nodded and let him continue searching. My eyes were focused on his face, as to not see anything else in the dome. After a few minutes, he pointed next to me. "There! Over there!" He shouted.

I squinted to see it, but I couldn't figure it out. "What is it? I don't get it."

"I-It's you, but you're older. Not by much, but still older." He started, standing up and inspecting it closer. "You-you're crying. And it looks like you're yelling at someone? Or maybe wailing?"

My future face twisted with anger as I apparently yelled. "I guess I'm yelling at someone." I said, making my way next to him.

We both watched as the vision faded out and the sand fell to the ground. Bruno turned to me with the glowing green slab in his hands. He was staring at it, confused. When I looked at it over his shoulder, the etching showed my angry, tear-stained face, yelling at someone unseen.

He went to throw it, but I stopped him. "Don't do that! I wanna keep it." I said, taking the glass tablet from him. "Damn, even angry I look hot." I said, admiring myself in the slab.

"Why would you wanna keep this? It's-it's bad! No- it's terrible. Just throw it out!" He reached to take it, but I twisted out  of the way.

"No way! Look!" I said as I tilted it for him to see. The image shifted to me hugging two small children close to my chest. "If you really don't want this," I motioned to the nice image of me holding, what I assumed to be, our children, "then go right ahead. Personally, I would manipulate a frame or something to angle it in this position so this is all I see."

He thought it over after taking the slab from me. Then, he held it protectively against his chest and nodded. "You're right. Of course you are, you always are."

"Not... not always." I said with a small smile. I looked at the slab once more. There's only one reason I look like that. That has to be the night that Bruno disappears.

Heyyy guys... <3 I think the next chapter is going to have quite a large time skip, but it all depends on what my brain decides.
