☆Marisol's POV☆
I paced around my parent's bedroom, taking in everything. They were peacefully paced out on their bed, wrapped in a light blanket and getting checked on by Julieta every so often. At one point they screamed, and I called out for Julieta. By the time she got there, they stopped and rolled over.
When Casita fell, Landyn and I rushed to get them. Casita rolled them out, and we picked them out to get them out of the damage. Everyone's focus quickly shifted from them to Mirabel, who was still inside the house somehow. "Mirabel, get out of there!" I screamed, running back to the doors. Everyone was yelling for her to get out, but we all got louder when my father's tower crumbled and almost fell on her. The house crumbled to the ground and she was left in the rubble and dust.
She looked around to see everyone searching through the damage. Her eyes lingered on Abuela, then Antonio, and lastly my parent. I gave her a reassuring smile then rushed to my parent with Landyn and Vi.
I glanced back to Mirabel, watching as she ran away from the house when everyone was distracted. "Mir-" I started to call out, but as I did, Bibi screamed again. I rushed to their side and held them, Landyn pressing a cold cloth to their head until they calmed down.
Bibi was moved into someone's home to stay while they searched for Mirabel. I left my parent in the care of someone Julieta trusts, so I didn't worry too much about them as I joined in the search.
Eventually, after about a day, she made her way back on a horse. We all met her in the place where the middle of Casita used to be, and she started singing about rebuilding the home. As she did, Abuela made her way over, someone familiar following shortly after.
"P-papá? Pá!" I cried out, running over to him with tears in my eyes, hugging him tightly. I was joined by my tías and brother, and I could tell how awkward he felt.
He started apologizing to Tía Pepa, but everyone told him it's all in the past. After the villagers started helping out, papá made his way over to Landyn and I as we started pulling out reusable pieces. "H-Hey- hey kiddos."
We looked between each other and laughed. "Kiddos?" Landyn asked. I looked away, trying to control my laughter.
He sat next to us and started helping. It took him a moment, but he finally broke the comfortable silence. "I'm... I'm sorry I left you guys. I just want you to know, I... um... well-"
"You didn't leave?" Landyn interjected, "Bibi tried to tell us, but we didn't believe them. Oh, and Mira told us you were living in the walls." He ended it by looking back to his work.
"Bibi? Y/n? Where are they?" He asked, jumping up and looking around frantically.
I looked at Landyn, who was purposefully staring at the ground. "They're... um... at Señor Gray's house... in a coma."
"What! What? No- no no no." He started panicking and I stood with him. I gently held his hand and waited for him to calm down before explaining what happened. "O-of course... that makes sense. They're only here because of magic, so with the magic gone... it... it makes sense."
"What." Vivian said, dropping her tools to her side and staring at our father. "Our Bibi is magical?" She asked, amazed.
"Ah- well- um... you see... hmm." He stopped for a moment, thinking about what to say to us. "About 15 years ago, I met your Bibi..." He went into a description about what happened up until he left. Then, he started talking about what he did in the walls. Having rats take our family photos, listening through the cracks about what's going on, and just doing his best to stay up to date with us.
I sighed and looked at my two siblings, "we should go see our Bibi, huh?" I asked them.
They nodded, and our dad nodded the hardest. "Yes please, I need to see them again. P-please."
I smiled and looped my arm with his, then doing the same to Landyn and Vi. I lead them all in the direction of the Gray's house.
We entered the house and were immediately met by Señora Gray. I looked to my dad, whose eyes widened with surprise. "Rosemary? Is that you?" She only half smiled and led us into the bedroom.
"Yes, that is my name, Bruno Madrigal. Y/n is back here. They've only cried out twice since last night." She said cheerfully. "Have fun you guys!" She said, closing the door behind us. We stayed back as our dad slowly approached the bed. He sat next to our bibi and gently sat their head on his lap, stroking their hair as he smiled down at them.
I leaned over to Landyn and Vi, whispering to them, "maybe we should give him a moment to his partner? All considering he hasn't seen them in 10 years."
I winked at them, and they winked back. We quietly left the room, making our way back to Casita.
:) HE'S BACK! Anticlimactic, I know, but you're gonna wake up in the next one... so... :)))
