"I do apologize for not having said hello to you sooner my dear! However, it seems whenever the chance arises you always seem to vanish." Alastor mentioned with an undertone of curiosity as he continued to lead you down one of the many long and winding halls. This place was huge, almost maze like since you weren't familiar with it. His eyes widened slightly as he looked at you, that cheshire smile never leaving his face.
"Ah." You nodded. "Usually just trying to steer clear of Val. Nothing personal."
"Not a fan of him?" He asked, his grin widening slightly.
"You could say that. I'd just as soon dispose of him if he weren't vital to the pride rings economy."
"If it's any consolation to you dear I understand. He's certainly not someone I choose to associate with- business or otherwise. Him and that no-good talking television..." His voice littered with distortion as he referenced the other overlords, not even trying to hide his annoyance with them. He shook his head, seemingly snapping back to his senses, before gesturing to an upcoming room before you.
"And this here is our entertainment room! Just incase you find yourself less than amused while you're not working." He announced, beaming with a smile as he bent down to your height to gaze at your reaction. You smiled softly at the site.
The room was painted a warm, dark grey with black trim along the edges of the ceiling. Deep purple victorian style furniture bordered the room, consisting of a wrap around sofa and an armchair. In the center of the room was an espresso brown coffee table. From wall to wall stretched bookshelves filled with novels; both old and new, movies, even a few games. There was even a pool table and a large flat screen.
"Snazzy! Gives me incentive to get back into reading." You chuckled softly.
Alastor chuckled as well. "I'd hope so. By the way darling, we're terribly sorry if we had pulled you from other duties back home. I realize that essentially relocating your place of living for a while is somewhat of an imposition. Charlie is a big fan of your work, you see."
You waved your hand dismissively and smiled softly as you both continued walking. Suppressing a small laugh, on account of who would ever think of the radio demon to apologize to someone? "Hardly an imposition, I didn't have much going on. I do have a side gig singing at Zany Daze Lounge every once in a while, but it's not a job I necessarily need. Besides, I think the owner needs a break from me."
Suddenly Alastor halted in his tracks and bent down to your height once more, you had to crane your neck back a bit to maintain the few inches of distance between you. His eyes practically glowed, widening along with his enthusiastic smile. "My dear friend Mimzy sings there! Do you know her?"
You lit up with a grin and nodded excitedly. "Yes I know her! Love that girl, if it wasn't for her I wouldn't still be singing there."
His grin stretched from ear to ear, returning to his normal height as you started walking again. "How delightful! I'm surprised I haven't seen you, I visit frequently!" He looked back down at you as he spoke again. "That being said, why do you say the owner may need a break from you?"
"Violence."
Alastor scoffed. "Then why hire an overlord? We aren't exactly reliable when it comes to being peaceful."
"Right?" You chuckled. "Well last time it was because some dunce tried getting handy with Mimzy after she already told him to knock it off. I didn't like that." You narrowed your eyes as you recalled the events, curling your fingers into a fist despite your claws threatening to puncture the skin in your palms.
"What did you do to him?" He asked, the static becoming a quiet but audible piercing frequency within the distortion of his voice. No doubt from the idea of his friend being harassed.
