"I really don't want to do this." Alastor grumbled quietly as he fiddled with his bowtie in the mirror. You laughed softly and walked over to him.
"Sorry but this was your idea. I don't wanna go as much as you don't, but, it beats sitting around and ignoring the issue." You encouraged, straightening out your dress and admiring both of you in the reflection. You watched as his agitated hands fumbled the tie and in his frustration couldn't get it to look nice. "Here..." you offered softly as you turned him. "Let go, and face me."
"Yes, but that doesn't make him any less insufferable." He said with disdain, looking at himself in the mirror and then back at you as you undid and retied his tie. "He's prideful, sneaky, crazy-"
"Sounds familiar." You murmured, looking up and seeing a look of annoyance on his face that you had to suppress a laugh at. "Sorry." You giggled. "I know, I know what you mean. And neither of us wanna do this. But the sooner we go, the sooner we can leave. Then how about afterwards we get ourselves some drinks and paint the town red, hm? Been a while since we had a little bedlam."
His smile widened slightly as the expression in his eyes softened. "That sounds wonderful, actually. Nothing like a few blood curdling screams to set the mood right."
You giggled and gave him a soft peck on the cheek as you pulled away. "That's the spirit!"
He chuckled softly and adjusted his monocle, checking the time on his pocket watch. "We should probably head into town, Charlie had arranged for her driver to pick us up and bring us there."
You raised your brows in surprise. "That's awfully kind of her. I assume he knows we're coming?"
He extended his arm for you to hold with you gladly linked yours around as you walked out of his room together. "He knows we're coming he doesn't know what about. He seemed surprised that the two of us were coming together."
"Why would he- oh, right. Most of the pride ring hasn't figured out we're together yet. You'd think they would have connected the dots on their own, or heard through the grapevine." You thought out loud, shaking your head.
"Perhaps our reputation precedes us so much that people simply can't believe it to be true." He chuckled. He reached up and fixed a curl in your hair, twirling it around his finger then releasing it and setting it. Then held his hand up ready to snap his fingers. "Ready my dear?"
You nodded. "As I'll ever be."
The stag snapped his fingers and the two of you were teleported, now standing on the corner of blood and bourbon street. That pink limo already parked and waiting for you. The driver rolled his eyes at the two of you as he exhaled cigar smoke out the window. "Took ya long enough." The driver muttered.
Alastor cocked his neck at a 90 degree angle, cracks and pops could be heard from the bones in his neck; and his eyes flashed to radio dials, staring daggers at the man. "What was that, sir?"
Oh yeah, he really isn't looking forward to this. You had to stifle a soft laugh at him, you weren't about to undermine your man. It was just funny to you to see him get riled once in a while when it really wasn't worth the energy, especially since he was normally calm and in control.
"I said, let me get the door for you!" The driver changed his tone and put out his cigar, exiting the car and walking around and opening the back door for the two of you. Alastor's demeanor returned to his normal, chipper self in less than a nano second.
"Thank you, my good man!" He stated boldly before turning to you. "After you, darling." He cooed, gesturing with his arm and smiling warmly at you. You giggled softly and felt hints of red dust your face. Amazing how after so much time with him he still manages to make you blush and feel butterflies in your stomach. You sat down and got yourself comfortable, situating the skirt on your dress and crossing your legs at the ankles as Alastor followed suit and sat next to you; extending his legs out and relaxing into the seat, draping an arm around you. The driver shut the door behind the two of you and got back in, speeding off in the direction of the mansion.
