After it was over you and Alastor stayed up in the balcony for a few moments, allowing the other denizens to file back out of the auditorium first as to not be caught up in the herd. You both managed to polish off almost the whole bottle by yourselves. Not as drunk as most people would be, but had a very strong buzz. That was the nice thing about being dead, you never really worried about alcohol poisoning. Just the raging hangovers.

"That was marvelous!" Alastor slurred. You both slumped into your seats, comfortably at the mercy of the warm, rum induced buzz. You giggled and looked over at him.

"Indeed it was. Did you enjoy yourself?" You asked.

"I-" he hiccuped, "did. It seems I'm always enjoying myself when I'm with you."

You couldn't help but laugh softly at his drunken state. "Al you're such a flirt. Come on, now."

"I mean it, Y/n. Would you like to do this again sometime in the near future?" He slurred turning in his seat to look at you, his face a mere few inches from yours. You felt your heart skip a beat when you acknowledge the possibility, trying to keep your eyes from trailing down to his lips as to not offend him, wondering if by some chance one of you would close the gap. You mentally scolded yourself, blaming it on the alcohol.

"You're not just asking me because we're drunk?" You asked, trying to keep your wits about you. He shook his head, keeping his eyes locked on you.

"Then yes, I'd very much like to do something like this again." You said with a gentle smile. All you could do was find yourself mesmerized by his eyes, which crinkled as he smiled wider. He was just as enthralled by yours if not more, noting how the sea of red irises demanded attention within the pools of black. How they held such emotion and thought just below the surface, most would just gloss over if they weren't looking hard enough. His chest felt light again as he instinctively glanced down at your soft lips, then bringing his attention back to your eyes. If he weren't a gentleman he would have entertained the idea. And it made him nervous as much as he suddenly craved it.

"What is it, darling?" He asked quietly, the static now a low gravel as he realized neither of you broke the eye contact and fallen quiet.

"Your eyes... I'm sorry I know it's rude to stare. They're just... hypnotic." You laughed softly and turned away.  He placed a finger under your chin and gently turned you back to face him once more, the same distance as before. He smiled wickedly in a way that would have made you feel weak; it's a good thing you were sitting.

"Now who's a flirt, hm?"

"Still you." You quipped, both of you chuckled and he released your chin. "It's probably pretty late now, huh?" You murmured, taking one last swig from your bottle as Alastor checked his pocket watch.

"It would appear so. Come along my dear, we outta get you back." He said standing up, placing the watch back in his pocket and adjusted his monocle.

"I'm not cinderella, you know. I don't have a curfew." You said smirking as you stood up in front of him.

"That may be true but you are working tomorrow, and I want you to be at least somewhat well rested. Not like we won't see each other tomorrow!" He gestured to the exit leading down stairs and held out his hand for you to take. "Ladies first."

Most of the walk was quiet. Save for the sounds of your footsteps echoing along the pavement and the usual inharmonious screams, laughs and moans that came from this way and that; just like always. However as far as foot traffic goes the streets were more scarce tonight than usual, and anyone who was out made sure to stay on the opposite side of the street.

As you arrived at the hotel he stood with you at the entrance as you looked upon each other once more.

"Again, thank you Alastor. This was some of the most fun I've had since I arrived down here." You smiled sincerely. He returned yours with a more genuine smile of his own, reaching a hand up and tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ear; carefully minding his claws as he did so.

"Of course sweetheart. I shall see you again tomorrow?" He hummed.

You nodded. "How can I thank you for tonight?"

He playfully rolled his eyes. "No thanks is necessary, darling. It was my pleasure."

You smirked up at the buck as you contemplated your next move, which felt a tad bold, and you almost prayed it'd go over well. "Well I must show my appreciation in some form." You said lowly.

His eyes half lidded glowed as they looked upon you, bent down slightly closer to your height in anticipation of your next words or actions; that smile never leaving his face.

You seized the opportunity and leaned in, kissing his cheek and letting it linger for a second before pulling away. His skin much to your pleasant surprise was velvety smooth and warm to the touch, you smiled softly as you pulled away and saw his eyes closed; seemingly allowing you to do what you just did without resistance. A light pink blush dusted his cheeks. His eyes then fluttered back open, dilating as they looked upon you and drank in your appearance for the last time this evening.

"With a thanks like that I'll be sure to try and keep you happy." He chuckled softly, almost at a whisper but you heard him. "Goodnight darling." He gently squeezed your hand he was holding gently before letting go and began to walk away.

You watched for a short moment until his silhouette disappeared into the dark, finally opening the hotel doors and made your way inside with a large grin on your face, plain as day.

As you entered your bedroom you snapped your fingers turning on the lights, and immediately face planted onto your bed and practically squealed into your pillow. What in the hell had gotten into you? Never before in your life and afterlife have you ever felt such an emotion over another person, you weren't the type to fawn over some guy, what a fool you felt like. But oh how you enjoyed the fluttery feeling in your chest as you recalled how warm he felt sitting next to you, how smooth and supple his cheek felt against your lips, his scent still lingering on the sleeve you had your arm linked to. You let out an exasperated groan. You don't recall the last time you felt like this and it scared you. As exhilarating as it was, it was still a bit frightening. Was Alastor someone you really wanted to get mixed up with?

Getting up from your bed you wasted no time doing your nightly routine of skin care, changing into some pajamas, and climbing back into bed and under the soft cloud like covers. You blushed and smiled to yourself as you recalled the nights events.

It was almost the perfect evening until you fell asleep and began to dream.
