(A/n: holy cow I actually got around to posting today after all. So!! Although this is a flashback chapter, and so is the next one when I get around to it, I won't be writing everything in italics like I normally do; just to make things a little easier on myself. So forgive me. Also I feel like I should mention that I do NOT encourage violent acts of any kind. It's all just for the sake of the story. Ight I'll shut up now)

~~~~~~~~~~flashback~~~~~~~~~~~
"Hi honey! How's your vacation going?"
"Going good," you replied over the phone, eyeing what appeared to be a fight about to break out on the far end of the bar before someone intervened. "I did a lot of shopping today. Traffic is nuts. But I got you a souvenir. How are you guys? Did dad get that promotion yet?"
Ah, sweet ole mom. Would you love me the same if you knew what I was really up to?
You were currently walking out of the bar to talk with her in a more quiet setting, as the music was blaring and the people were loud. A lot of tunes from the 60s and 70s played tonight which was always a treat, it added to your decent mood. The truth is you weren't exactly on vacation. No, it was more of a... hunting trip.
But mom and dad didn't need to know that. It would break their precious hearts, you couldn't bare to hurt them like that.
It took you a while to find him. A part of you wasn't surprised that he never moved back to the state you both grew up in, and in a way, it worked in your favor. Unfamiliar territory and people meant less would recognize you. You just had to worry about disguising yourself from the man in question. Plus it was a larger, bustling town with plenty of tourism; lots of faces that just came and went like the wind, so that heightened your luck as well. With a good quality wig, some clothes that differed from your usual style but weren't so extravagant that they stood out from the crowd, a few minor changes in the way you did your makeup and a pair of faux eye glasses was all you needed to look unrecognizable for the most part. Fortunately by the looks of it he was already getting pretty drunk, so you felt fairly confident that this would work.
It was getting late, the patrons of the packed bar were getting rowdy. From the other side of the door you could hear The Doors "Roadhouse Blues" start playing audibly and it made you smile, tapping your foot subconsciously as you continued to chat with your mother.
"I should probably let you go ma, it's getting pretty late here and I still gotta drive back to the hotel." You watched him inconspicuously through the window seeing him seated alone and looking miserable. You took great delight in knowing you were mostly the reason why. Within the past year, you had gotten him fired from his job and blackballed in his career field, managed to tarnish his relationship with a woman he was seeing, and just to add insult to injury: indirectly committed some property damage. Miraculously, you managed to get away with it all. Thanks to having acquaintances in high and low places who were willing to do you favors, one of them in specific was kind enough to lend you their home for the weekend during your stay, no questions asked. They said they wanted plausible deniability should they ever be interrogated, so they didn't want to know what you were up to as long as you cleaned up afterwards. You couldn't argue with that, you just said thanks and took the offer.
"Alright, Y/n. Be safe, take care and call us when you're flight gets in tomorrow! We both love you!"
"I love you too." You said with a neutral expression and a cheery, sweet tone of voice as you hung up the phone. You watched him for another few seconds, and the people around him before making your way back in. You couldn't help the grin on your face as you danced your way through the crowd of people and sat back down at the bar.
