You awoke the next morning in somewhat of a daze as the soft red glow of the outside peered in through your balcony window; casting a soft pink hue to part of your room.
And incidentally, shining right in your face.
You squinted and groaned as you lazily waved your hand, the black curtains on your bed canopy closing. You sighed with content as you were enveloped in shadow and rolled over to check the time. Only 8am? Yowza.
You closed your eyes and contemplated falling back asleep for another few minutes, and just as your tired body was about to give in a gentle knock on your door alerted you.
So much for that.
You rolled your eyes and swung the canopy curtain back open, swinging your legs over the side of the bed and adorning a scarlet red robe to cover yourself in your pajamas as you walked to the door.
Looking through the peephole you found none other than a familiar dollface with long blonde hair and rosy cheeks. Smiling tiredly at the site, you opened the door and greeted her warmly.
"Good morning, Charlie."
"Good morning!" She smiled, her posture and nerves relaxing slightly at your calm demeanor. "You slept through breakfast, but, Al insisted he whip something up for you to help wake you up some more." You looked down and noticed a trey with waffles, eggs, sausage and bacon, orange juice and a piping hot cup of coffee.
"Oh he did, did he?" You mused, thanking her and carefully taking the trey as you gestured for her to enter the room.
"You may sit if you'd like." You offered as you set the tray on your nightstand, she obliged and sat in the chair beside you.
"Soooo..." she twiddled her thumbs somewhat anxiously. You hummed in response. "Have you given thought to what you'll be painting?"
You nodded excitedly and grinned at her. "Yes!! So, it's gonna sound a little cliché at first but just hear me out."
"Tell me tell me!"
"I'm thinking a sky scene; you said you wanted something nature related, yeah? Well I'm leaning towards something reminiscent to the ballroom in beauty and the beast- if you've ever seen that- but, that's not all. I have a literal fuck-ton of neon colored glow in the dark paints that all dries completely transparent. So I could do another layer, a nighttime galaxy scene that only shows when the lights are dimmed or a UV light is used." You explained. "What do you think?"
"That sounds amazing!!" Her face lit up with glee as she squealed with excitement. You grinned at the demoness with a subtle amount of blush forming in your cheeks as you reached for your coffee. It was always a rewarding feeling to see someone excited about your work. "Oh I can't wait!" She continued. "I just know you're gonna do an amazing job, thank you Y/n thank you so much!"
"You're very kind." You smiled with appreciation, acknowledging her thanks. "I'll certainly do my best."
"Feel free to start whenever you're ready. No rush, of course! Finish eating, shower, whatever you gotta do. 'Kay?" She said as she stood up and headed to the bedroom door.
You nodded and took a sip of your coffee as you watched her exit your room; shutting the door quietly behind her.
After you finished eating you took a quick shower and changed into some clothes you had set aside specifically for painting; a pair of leggings and a simple cotton black t-shirt that already had some smears and splatters of color on them. You threw your hair back into a messy bun and gathered the supplies you'd need for today and put them into a bag before heading out and into the elevator.
