Whumpee: Minho

Caregivers: maknae-line

No one's POV.:

Needing to come up with a few new choreographies, the dance-racha had resorted to splitting up the work, which meant that they stopped practicing together and were now working on one new choreography each. They'd meet up and teach each other the new choreographies once they were done, so they'd be able to teach them to the rest of the group. That strategy surely was efficient but it wasn't as fun. Despite their dance practices being exhausting, they had also always been at least somewhat fun, being able to dance together and exchange ideas. Now it really did feel like work and the three dancers rarely saw each other. They did have a few dance practices with the entire group but were usually split up for recording sessions, vocal lessons and their choreography work. Still, the trio reminded themselves that it was only a matter of time till they could go back to practicing together and it'd hopefully become more enjoyable then.

Their choreographies had increased in difficulty since their debut and Minho felt pressured to keep the level of difficulty up, not wanting the internet to call them lazy. It was a bit tricky to do that by himself though, since most stunts involved multiple members and there was one acrobatics trick, that he knew Hyunjin could pull of easily but he himself wasn't as confident. Trying this trick was always a gamble, sometimes Minho nailed it, sometimes he didn't and on a few occasions, he had almost hurt himself trying. Yet, he wanted to include it and planned for Hyunjin to do that trick in the final version but to show them, he had to do the trick himself. That might not have been too much of a problem, had Minho not been alone. Usually, the other members would be around and could help or catch him if he miscalculated his jump. This way was riskier but it was the only option he saw and it went alright in the beginning. Sure, Minho ended up gaining a few bruises from his frequent falls but nothing serious and he was confident he was getting better at it. Maybe by the time he had to teach the choreography to his friends, he'd ace the trick like his dongsaeng always did.

Although Minho got better at the acrobatics trick, the weeks of intense dance practice did take a toll on his body. Especially since he was alone and nobody forced him to take breaks as frequently as the normally did. Minho's muscles were constantly sore and the longer he kept going, the weaker they felt. That wasn't enough of a reason for the dancer to take it easy though and he kept pushing himself, despite getting a little clumsier every day. It would only be a matter of time till his luck would run out and something had to go wrong. That happened when Minho was once again practicing by himself. He hadn't been able to nail the acrobatics trick a single time today, his muscles to weak and slow. It was frustrating and the dancer refused to finish his practice before having succeeded at least once. The longer he practiced though, the more often he tripped himself though. He didn't jump as high or spin as fast anymore and eventually ended up landing the trick wrong, twisting his knee. Minho felt the momentum tear on his tendons before he found himself crashing to the ground.

He winced at the pain, squeezing his eyes shut for a few seconds before sitting up and inspecting his knee. This was bad. Minho could barely bend his knee at all and unable to get up, he just stayed in the center of the room, laying on his back and staring at the ceiling. The dancer knew very well what this meant. An injury could set the entire group back because he couldn't choreograph their song and either Hyunjin or Felix would have to do his work once they were done with their own. Tears of pain and frustration leaked from his eyes as he stared at the ceiling, waiting to find the motivation to drag himself over to his bag and call for help because he doubted he'd be able to get up by himself. Minho didn't know how much time had passed with him just laying there but he eventually sat up and glanced at his knee again. By now, it had started to swell and the side was bruising, while the pain kept increasing. He tried to push himself over to his bag but it hurt too badly to drag his injured leg across the floor. It seemed, he'd have to wait for some cleaning staff to find him at some point.
