Little: Changbin
Caregiver: Seungmin
No one's POV.:
Changbin was frustrated to say the least. He had been at the studio with Chan and Jisung for hours but had yet to come up with any lyrics for the track Chan had presented him. For some reason, Changbin was out of ideas. It wasn't that the track wasn't good. It was. It had a lot of potential but the rapper just couldn't seem to focus. He just couldn't help getting distracted all the time. The thing was, Changbin hadn't been sleeping well recently and the exhaustion was evident in his eyes. Dark eyebags adorned his face and his eyes held a faraway look. What was he thinking about? Nobody knew if he was thinking at all or if his mind was empty, blank like the paper in front of him. Deep down, Changbin was longing for something and he eventually managed to write a couple of lines about this feeling. Nobody needed to know that what he was longing for was Gyu, the plushie buried under the pillows on his bed. Usually, his plushie helped him fall asleep but these past nights, not even Gyu could help when the boy lay awake growing more frustrated with himself for not being able to sleep, and making everything worse in turn.
"What's on your mind, Bin?", Chan asked softly. The leader had watched Changbin chew on his pencil for all of twenty minutes without writing anything down. Startling, the rapper muttered: "White noise, hyung. Nothing but white noise and static." – "Do you want to take a break?", the oldest hummed, "You look tired and I think the harder you try to come up with something the more you'll fail. It's okay if you want to step out for a bit, maybe take a walk around the block to get some fresh air. You could also get some coffee because you look about ready to fall asleep." – "If only I could", Changbin mumbled, playing with the pencil in his hand. "Get coffee?", Chan frowned, not really understanding. "No", the rapper shook his head, "fall asleep."
When Changbin also mentioned having a headache, they got him situated on the couch, Jisung handing him a pair of earplugs, so he could try to take a nap. He doubted he'd be able to doze of and even if he did, it probably wouldn't help the headache but there was no real use in trying to argue with his friends. Knowing that only slipping would fix his headache, Changbin had already resigned himself to suffer for the rest of the week. He wouldn't get an opportunity to be little anytime soon, so he'd be stuck with the pain for a while.
The thing was, sure, he could slip alone in his room when they got back from work. At least, that was what he used to do. Nowadays, Changbin couldn't slip without his caregiver and his caregiver was busy, too busy to help him be small. He had never meant to get this attached to Seungmin but it had still happened somehow and now Changbin needed the other around if he wanted to feel safe enough to slip. He had tried to slip on his own but it didn't even work anymore. It was like there was a block in his head, shutting him out of his littlespace.
Like Changbin had predicted, he hadn't been able to nod off and his headache hadn't improved in the slightest by the time he continued with his work. Not that there was much use in him even trying, considering he didn't have any more ideas than he had before he had lain down. "How's your head?", Jisung asked quietly when he caught the older wincing. Giving a tired shrug, Changbin admitted: "Still hurts. Resting didn't really do anything." – "Do you want medicine for the pain?", Chan offered, glancing at his backpack. The rapper shook his head. "It's not that bad, just makes it hard for me to focus. I'm sorry, I'm so useless today", he muttered rubbing his face. Furrowing his brows, Chan patted his back and reminded: "Everyone has down days sometimes. That's okay. Just take it easy and let me know if there's anything I can do to help."
By the time, 3racha made it back to their dorm, Changbin's headache had gotten so much worse. He was on edge, hands trembling as he changed into shorts and a nightshirt. It was like he was about to slip and he knew it'd be okay if he did. He was alone in his room after all but no, it didn't happen. A single tear trailed down his cheek, dripping from his chin. Digging Gyu out from underneath the pillows, Changbin buried his face in the soft material and sniffled back more tears. He was so tired, he couldn't take it anymore. Since he knew Seungmin wasn't in the same dorm as him and had probably had a similarly exhausting day as him, he knew he had to figure something out on his own. Crawling under his blanket, Changbin closed his eyes and finally allowed himself to cry. Maybe he'd be able to cry himself to sleep tonight.
