Sickie: Felix
Caregivers: Stray Kids
No one's POV.:
It was already late and Felix would've expected to be out cold the moment he laid down, considering how grueling the past few hours of dance practice had been, yet here he was, sore, exhausted and very much still awake. His head ached, making him believe he might be dehydrated from how much he had sweat while dancing. Felix knew he should probably get up and drink some water but the task seemed far too exhausting and he just couldn't convince himself to move. That was till his throat started to dry up too. In a matter of minutes every breath felt scratchy and swallowing didn't help, it only made his throat ache. Frustrated, Felix swung his legs over the edge of the bed and sat up, his head swimming for a moment. Rubbing his face, the dancer gave an itchy cough before getting to his feet and shuffling to the kitchen.
His body felt heavy with exhaustion, legs a little unsteady as leant against the kitchen counter for balance. Knowing he wouldn't willingly get back up anytime soon, Felix had a drink and afterwards filled his water bottle to the brim to keep next to his bed. In his tired haze, he ended up knocking the bottle off the counter just when he tried to screw the cap on. The impact was deafening in the otherwise quiet dorm and sent a sharp pain through Felix' scull, while flooding the kitchen. Fighting back tears of frustration, the Aussie picked up the now empty bottle and started to clean up his mess. He startled when someone appeared behind him, somehow not having heard Minho approach. "Everything okay?", the older yawned, having woken up form the noise. Felix turned but avoided the other's eyes, frowning: "I'm so sorry waking you, hyung. Just wanted to get some water and got clumsy." – "It's okay", Minho assured, refilling the Aussie's water bottle, "Don't worry about it. Just wanted to make sure you're fine." Nobody could be mad at their sunshine for being clumsy. The older put the lid on Felix' bottle and handed it to him once he was done cleaning up. "Goodnight, Lix", Minho hummed before heading back to his room to sleep.
As soon as Felix had made it back to his room, he crashed. Leaving his water bottle on the nightstand, he curled up under his blanket and was out in an instant. Didn't mean he'd stay asleep for long though. Felix woke up freezing, trembling hands pulling the blanket tighter. Sniffling, he buried his face in his pillow and squeezed his eyes shut. Why couldn't he sleep? He was already wiped, so how was he going to face the day ahead if he couldn't get a chance to recharge in between? His throat had gone from a little irritated to sore and the dull ache in his head had started to thump in sync with his heart. It was safe to say, this was not a headache from dehydration like he had originally made himself believe.
Felix had to face it, he was coming down with something or had been coming down with something over the previous day to finally be struck down now. Since his throat was dry already, the Aussie forced himself to breathe through his nose no matter how stuffy it was, making his sinuses tingle. Lifting his blanket to his face, Felix caught two itchy sneezes and groaned as his head pounded. The dancer shuddered as a chill ran down his spine, making him realize just how much the day ahead would suck. Even with his blanket he felt unbearably cold and he'd have to leave that behind in less than an hour to go to work. Doubting he'd be able to get through a full day of schedule in his condition, Felix picked up his phone to text Chan what was going on. He had barely glanced at the screen when he realized he couldn't read it. It was too bright, his eyes burning and head pounding just from looking at it. Felix felt his only option would be a voice message, so once he found the correct button, he hit record and closed his eyes. He was shocked by just how low his voice came out and the rasp was undeniable as he told the leader how wrecked he felt.
He had almost fallen asleep when his bedroom door creaked open and a cold hand appeared on his forehead. Whimpering hoarsely as the cold sent another wave of chills through his body, Felix weakly slapped the hand away before meeting his hyung's eyes. "Go back to sleep", Chan whispered but Felix held his gaze, eyes shiny with fever. Brushing the dancer's hair behind his ear, the oldest sighed: "Manager said you can stay behind if you have a fever, which you most definitely have, so you can really go back to sleep. The rest of us has to leave soon but you can always call or text any of us if you need anything." – "C-could you – could you ge-et me another – another blanket be-before you go, p-lease?", Felix forced out between chattering teeth, muscles stiff from the cold. "Of course", Chan hummed, "You have water, that's good. Anything else you need before we leave?" The younger shook his head but also didn't really have the energy to think.
