Caregivers: Stray Kids

Felix' littlespace had always been a bit tricky to understand. He slipped within a broad age range and his skills often didn't match his mental age. Sometimes he could slip to pre-school age and be entirely dependent on his caregivers and other times, he'd slip really deep somewhere between baby and toddler and still manage to make himself a bottle or use the blender to blend some fruit. That made it difficult for his friends to support him right and they'd end up either annoying little Lixxie with fussing over him too much or making him feel abandoned when trying to give him his space. Something that always worked fine for them though, was baking with the little. Felix would either take the lead and the other members only assisted him, opening containers for him, putting the baking trays into the oven or taking them out, or the little would sit on the counter, clumsily mixing the ingredients with a wooden spoon, while his caregivers did all the work and made sure he wouldn't knock the bowl off the counter. The Aussie enjoyed it either way and their variety of baked goods slowly grew from only brownies and chocolate-chip cookies to multiple different cupcakes and cookies, often experimenting with different add-ins.

When Felix slipped on their day off, they were quick to take him shopping for the ingredients, they'd need to make cookies. 3racha was working on some music in their dorm but Hyunjin had come over to his friends' dorm right after breakfast. Minho would be preparing the kitchen while his three dongsaengs would take Felix to the store. That way, the little could choose which add-ins he wanted for his cookies. He often went with the good old chocolate-chips but they had also tried m&ms, caramel and chopped nuts before. It was still a bit windy outside, so Seungmin tried to put Felix into a warm and cozy outfit but this morning, the little wasn't having it, insisting that it was way too warm. Eventually, Minho had to step in and tell the boy that he was either going out wearing that outfit or not go out at all. Though Felix huffed in annoyance, he wore the clothes his caregiver had picked for him. Still annoyed, the Aussie refused to hold Seungmin's hand when exiting the dorm, instead walking between Hyunjin and Jeongin, sulking.

He grew fussy the longer they were away from the dorm, so Hyunjin pulled an emergency pacifier from his bag and quickly slipped it between his dongsaeng's lips, covering it with a mask right after. It seemed to do the trick and Felix relaxed, quietly waddling along. His caregivers had been right, it was a bit cold outside, mainly due to strong wind and he could feel his fingers grow numb. Jeongin noticed the other's discomfort first and slipped their intertwined hands into his pocket, instructing Hyunjin to do the same because their baby was freezing. Felix mood improved quickly once they stepped inside the store. It was warm there and thinking about his task, the little grew giddy with excitement. Since it was always a bit risky to take a little out in public, the three caregivers wanted to get this over with as quickly as possible, so they split up. Seungmin and Jeongin would be collecting all the other ingredients they'd need, while Hyunjin would take Felix to choose the add-ins and decoration. The Aussie was usually indecisive, so the older already knew they'd need some time.

"So, do you know what you want to put in your cookies today, Lixxie?", Hyunjin hummed, pulling his dongsaeng to the baking isle. He stood behind Felix, his hands on the little's shoulders as his eyes scanned the shelves. The Aussie looked between the shelves and his hyung, pouting: "Me nuh know." - "Hm, we always use chocolate-chips, do you want chocolate-chips?", Hyunjin offered, "Or we could use colorful m&ms this time and make them look fun." Felix looked at the older with wide, curious eyes. He wanted fun cookies. "Da!", he exclained, pointing at a bag of m&ms. Grabbing the bag, Hyunjin smiled: "Good job, sunshine! Should we go look for your hyungs?" Felix nodded, slipping his hand into his caregiver's and waddling beside him. They found the two maknae's picking up a carton of eggs and adding it to their shopping basket with the other ingredients. "Hey there", Seungmin smiled, turning around, "What kind of cookies are we having today, Lixxie?" - "Da!", Felix giggled, shaking the bag of m&ms. Patting the little's head, Jeongin praised: "Good choice, Lix. I love those." The Aussie giggled at the praise and the friends headed to the checkout, wanting to get home quick, so they could start baking soon.
