Sickie/Little: Hyunjin

Caregiver: Felix

No one's POV.:

Hyunjin tiredly massaged his temple, closing his eyes for a moment. He was glad Felix had linked their fingers as they strolled through the mall. They finally had a day off and with the pair already having made plans to go shopping together long ago, the older hadn't had the heart to cancel. The truth was, Hyunjin had started to feel a little worse for wear the previous night. He had been restless, barely getting any sleep, which made him emotional and when he got emotional, it was always so much easier to slip into his headspace. Knowing they had plans though, the dancer suppressed it and ended up giving himself a headache as if he hadn't been struggling enough already. Felix noticed the older being a bit quieter than usual but he didn't think too much of it because their schedule had been packed lately and he couldn't blame his hyung for being exhausted.

"Woah there", the Aussie gasped, catching Hyunjin around the waist when the older stumbled, "Are you okay?" Nodding, Hyunjin muttered: "Thanks, tripped over my own feet." That wasn't entirely the truth but he didn't want to worry the boy. He had gotten a little dizzy for a moment but the spell was already over, so there was no point in telling Felix, right? Feeling his little-side rise to the surface, Hyunjin had to suppress a whimper. He was to tired for this. His body ached from the endless hours of dancing and his head pounded from trying not to slip. Everything was fuzzy and there were far too many people around them. Giving his friend's hand a gentle squeeze, Felix guided him to the next store, which luckily wasn't as cramped as the previous one.

Hyunjin didn't know how much time they had spent at that store, just that the artificial lighting was making his headache worse. Having to suppress a whimper, he trudged behind Felix, who was slowly growing more suspicious that there was more going on than just his hyung being tired. Since it didn't seem like Hyunjin was paying any attention to where they were going, the Aussie tugged him into a quiet corner and whispered: "Do you want us to go home?" Feeling tears well up in his eyes, the older shook his head. He felt guilty that he had apparently seemed so unenthusiastic that Felix realized he didn't want to be there. Realizing that the other was deliberately avoiding eye contact, Felix cupped his cheeks. "What's on your mind then, hm? I can tell something's not right but I can't help if I don't know", the younger hummed, which was the last straw. Hyunjin's chest hitched with a half-suppressed sob and Felix felt his heart shatter.

Felix startled when Hyunjin stumbled again, barely managing to catch him this time. With his breathing unsteady due to his attempts to keep from crying, the older had gotten lightheaded within seconds and trembled slightly when Felix guided him to sit on a pouf. "I should have stayed home", Hyunjin breathed shakily, covering his face. Comfortingly rubbing his back, Felix whispered: "Why didn't you? Why didn't you say something? We could've stayed home. What's going on, hyung?" – "I-I don't know", Hyunjin whimpered, rubbing at his eyes, "I don't feel good but I had said we'd -I promised we'd g-go...." The Aussie shushed him quietly, digging through his bag before handing him a tissue. "I would've understood, hyung", Felix sighed sadly, "Now please tell me what doesn't feel good, so I can figure out how to help."

Though he had only been aware of the headache, Hyunjin confessed that he hadn't been able to sleep well and had felt on the verge of slipping for most of the day, which he figured was the most likely explanation for his headache. He shuddered when Felix pressed the backs of his fingers against his cheek, the Aussie's skin so much colder than he would've expected. His hand hadn't been this icy when they were holding hands earlier. Gently running his fingers through Hyunjin's hair, Felix cooed: "You're running a fever, so no wonder your head hurts. I'm pretty sure you already had it last night. You always get restless when you're sick like this." He lightly brushed the pads of his thumbs under Hyunjin's eyes and noticed how they glossed over. "Oh, baby", Felix breathed sympathetically, "You're really not doing well, hm?" – "Appa, Jinnie feew icky. We gwo home", the little sniffled, looking up at the Aussie with pleading eyes. Nodding slightly, Felix promised: "Yeah, princess, we're going home."
