Park Chaeyoung is a very busy woman.

She's glued to her seat over online consultations since seven in the morning, only leaving to get something to eat at around noon before going back. Jeon Jungkook can hear her talking mostly in English, but sometimes breaking into Korean sporadically. He assumes she's juggling between her duties in her Melbourne office as well as her expectations in the Seoul branch. But there was something he didn't really like.

Oppa.

There was something so effervescent about the way she'd say it, a bright colour to her voice as she addressed her coworkers from the Seoul counterpart. He doesn't want to intrude especially since she was likely still adapting to the new changes but when he walked past her room he could hear her often laughing and mentioning that word as she socialised online with her fellow lawyers.

He hated it.

Park Chaeyoung has never called him that, mainly because she was older than him (by a few months) and because they'd met in Australia anywhere where such formalities weren't needed. But he noticed how easily and quickly she adapted her speech to the new environment, such as calling Park Jimin so when they were at the airport.

Except, he was actually her brother (at least half).

Finally, she leaves the room a little after four in the afternoon. He notices that while she's wearing her checked pyjama pants, she has a nice blouse on top (likely for the video feature in her meetings).

"Hi," a sheepish smile moves across her lips as she turns around, looking to see whether her brother was around, "... where's Jimin?"

"I think he's meeting friends," Jeon Jungkook shrugs before giving her a cheeky smile, taking a step close to her as he bring his lips to her forehead, kissing it gently, "... are you finished with work?"

She hums, wrapping her arms around him, "... yep, let's have lunch. Or early dinner. Lunner?"

He chuckles, "... go get dressed."

Just as he was about to kiss her, he hears the sound of the door opening and straight away they take a step away from each other. When the older man enters, Park Chaeyoung skips over to him.

"Jimin, have you eaten? We were just going to get something to eat," she offers.

No. Don't invite Jimin!

From the side of her eye, she can see the pout across his lips.

"Was just going to ask, let me put my stuff down first!"

Jeon Jungkook thinks that it was better when the two were metaphorical enemies earlier.

Jeon Jungkook is happy to see that his best friend and his girlfriend get along.

A couple of nights ago, he'd asked Park Jimin about how the pair gotten close especially since from what he gathered in Melbourne, they'd barely been on speaking terms. Park Jimin turns his head around and told him that in the six months that he was gone, he realised that most of his opinion on her was based on hearsay, but that the fact that she willingly housed his best friend without any expectations made him realise that he had been unfair in judging her. Whatever it is, Jeon Jungkook is glad, minus the fact that he often feels like an outside as the two get along well.

His girlfriend must've noticed his changing mood because halfway through their dinner, he feels her warm hands slowly grazing against his under the table. Eyes agape in shock, he watches as she gives him a warm smile. It takes him a few seconds before he decides to reciprocate, intertwining their fingers together while hoping that his best friend across the table won't notice.

He likes it.

But a part of him wishes he could be more open about his relationship. Park Chaeyoung too, who reminded him that their time in Seoul together was so limited and every minute hiding was a minute wasted. Jeon Jungkook knows that she has a firm point, but he genuinely isn't sure about how his best friend will react.

"So Chaeyoung, do you know who his mystery girlfriend is? Is it someone you know?"

Park Jimin's question makes him choke on his own saliva, causing for her to erupt in a laugh.

"I'm sorry, I was barely home throughout the six months this is all news to me too," she lies, almost too perfectly before turning her attention to him, "... spill the beans, Jungkook."

He feels her playfully step on his shoe from under the table, almost teasing him.

"I don't know what you guys are talking about," he manages to speak.

"Yeah, yeah no one believes you," Park Jimin interrupts before turning to her, "... do you have plans in saying hi to dad? Does he know you're here?"

Suddenly, he feels her let go of his hand from under the table, making him shift his eyes to her in concern.

Was she okay?

He watches as she takes a deep breath before shaking her head, "... I think it's better we don't meet, it'll cause more tension between the whole family."

Jeon Jungkook rests his hand on her thigh, squeezing it, hoping that she at least feel a slight sense of assurance at the gesture. He takes her head and traces small hearts in the back of her palm.

"Maybe I can talk to them," the older male suggests.

Jeon Jungkook wishes that his best friend could just drop the subject already.

When the bill comes, a gush of wind makes the bill fall to the ground. By instinct, Park Jimins lowers himself to tick it up, eyes widening in shock to see Jeon Jungkook's hand on her lap.

"What. The. Fuck? Jungkook! Explain yourself right now!"

Before he could even put the pieces together, the sound of his girlfriends phone rings. She quickly picks it up.

"Hello oppa—" she gets up, non-verbally excusing herself from the table.

Great.

He turns to see Park Jimin glaring at him.

"So my sister is this secret girlfriend of yours? The sister you promised me not to date?"

"Look, I didn't plan on it either Jimin. It sort of just—happened," he tries to justify himself.

"So now you're telling me it's an accident to fall in love with my sister?" He inquires, still glaring.

"No, no of course—"

"Just messing with you man, calm down you look like you're worried I'll commit murder," Park Jimin breaks character, chuckling as he teases his friend, "... I had a feeling though."

"You did?" He raises a brow, knowing he'd been extra careful.

"You stopped checking your phone ever since she came, and it's kind of obvious on your face that you love her. I wouldn't expect her to actually want you back—"

Before he could finish, Jeon Jungkook gets up from his seat and playfully hits him.

"Guys sorry to interrupt," a honeyed voice re-emerges, "... the Seoul branch want to go for drinks tonight, can I be dropped off before you guys head home?"

Oh hell no.

Park Chaeyoung + this "oppas" of hers + intelligent and probably attractive lawyers + alcohol?

Jeon Jungkook doesn't hide the distaste across his face.

"Sure, of course. It's good that you're already getting along with the team, maybe you'll be moving here sooner rather than later," Park Jimin jokes causing her to erupt in a loud laugh.

Jeon Jungkook on the other hand has his jaw so tensely locked that it could potentially break.
