Meredith had taken a shower and was fully dressed.

Derek had taken a shower and was fully dressed.

Mark played with his balls and tried to wake up. He sat up reluctantly and got up and walked outside his bedroom wrapped in a bathrobe.

Mark glanced at the closed doors and went downstairs to start the coffee. Whatever, he thought to himself. Those two were fucking idiots. What was their problem? Horny, jealous, shy, never made a commitment before................ It was going to be a long day.

Meredith heard someone go downstairs and got up quietly and listened by the door. Maybe he was leaving early too. She wanted to make a fast get a way. She slowly opened her door and peaked outside. His door was shut and she made a run for it. She stealthily moved down the stairs and grabbed her coat and bag. She heard someone in the kitchen. Shit! She stepped back against the wall. She heard the lower bathroom door close. She crept past it and silently went through the kitchen and utility room and into the garage. She got in her car and took a deep breath and noticed Mark's car was still there. Hopefully Derek's was still in the driveway too. She hit the opener and started the car all in one step. She back out immediately and hit the button to close the garage door.

Derek had heard Mark go down the stairs. He had waited a few minutes and didn't hear anything. She was probably still sleeping. He opened his door slowly and looked around. Her door was shut. He crept down the stairs and was almost in the foyer and out the door when he heard Mark yell loudly.

"Don't even think about it, you Fuck!"

Derek spun around and hissed, "Shut up Mark. You will wake her up!"

Mark leaned against the kitchen doorway and said, "She's gone already."

"She's gone? Her door is still shut?"

"I guess you didn't hear her. She doesn't make any noise on the stairs. She left a few minutes ago. I heard the garage door open and close when I was in the bathroom."

Derek clutched his head and sighed. He had not slept at all. He was beside himself at the things he had yelled at her. He only hoped she didn't hear the last part over the yelling.

"The coffee is ready." Mark grumbled as he walked back towards the kitchen.

Derek walked into the kitchen and poured some into his to go cup. He turned around the leaned against the counter.

Mark sat down at the table and looked at him. "Derek. What the hell happened last night? I have never seen you like that. Even when Nancy donated your Dad's vintage trains to the thrift store. Even when the other sisters practiced cutting your hair while you slept. Even when Weiss slept with your girlfriend in high school. I didn't know that you even had it in your temperament to be that angry. With Meredith of all people? What could she have possible done to warrant all that yelling and screaming?"

Derek raked his hand through his hair and let out a big sigh. "I fucked up." He couldn't explain it to himself, how could he explain it to Mark?

"No kidding." Mark said sarcastically. "Now what are you going to do about it?"

"If she will talk to me, I'll start off with an apology."

Mark stretched his legs out in front of him and said, "I don't think a simple apology is going to work. I hope you have a better plan than that."

Derek didn't and headed out. Mark was going in an hour later.

"Good luck man." Mark yelled at his retreating back.
