Derek drove home and they all walked into the kitchen together. Meredith yawned and said, "I'm going to take a quick shower and go to bed."

Derek smiled at her and said, "I'll be right up."

Meredith yawned again and replied, "Okay." She walked towards the stairs and Mark helped himself to some water.

Once Meredith was out of ear shot Derek said, "Meredith's birthday is next Thursday. We are all working so I was thinking maybe just a small dinner at home this Saturday."

Mark asked, "No party?"

Derek replied, "I wanted to, but Yang talked me out of it. Meredith is so private and she doesn't like to be the center of attention. I was thinking just us and Yang and whoever she wants to bring."

"Sure. I am in. What do I need to do?"

"Maybe give the house a thorough cleaning and the grill too. I'll go to the store for the groceries and beer and wine."

Mark stretched and said, "I'm on it."

As they walked upstairs Derek asked, "Anybody you want to ask over?"

Mark chucked and said, "No. I don't have time for a relationship. I barely have time to get laid anymore! But you my friend. You have it all."

Derek opened their bedroom door and said sincerely, "I do and I'm grateful. Good night."

Mark yawned and went into the bathroom. "Night."

Derek closed the door and frowned when he heard the shower shut off.[i] He was hoping to get in there with her.[/i] He walked into the bathroom as she was toweling off.

Derek started shedding his clothes as Meredith watched appreciatively. He turned the water on and asked, "Will you be up when I get out?"

"Yeah. I have to untangle my hair or it will be a rat's nest in the morning."

Derek said, "Good. I'll be out in less than five minutes."

Meredith smiled at him and said, "I love you too. And I'll get there. I want to. And I will. I promise." She let out a tiny yawn.

Derek laughed and said, "Roll over Mer."

She raised her eyebrow at him and he said, "On your stomach. I'll give you a quick massage."
