There is a pair of panties hanging on the bulletin board under lost and found.

Dr. Bailey is incensed. "This is a hospital people! Serious work happens here. We save lives here!" She notices the male interns smirking and laughing uncontrollably.

Dr. Bailey said, "Oh. Something funny?"

They all shake their head and she notices the nurses all laughing too.

Cristina whispers to Meredith, "This is bad. This isn't good."

"You'd better claim them."

Cristina replied, "They are not mine!" Meredith raises any eyebrow. She had seen Cris run out of an on call room recently with a certain male trauma doc in tow.

Dr. Bailey stares down Montgomery, Yang and Grey, "Yeah. I know it's one of you! It's always one of mine."

Grey looks offended, Yang looks amused and Montgomery looks guilty.

Dr. Bailey scrutinized them all. Grey truly looked offended. Given that she and Shepherd were attached at the hip she was surprised she hadn't caught them yet. But she had caught Yang and Montgomery.

She glared at them and asked, "So tell me! Which one of you left your damn drawers on my surgical floor?"

No one says anything and Nurse Debbie hands Dr. Bailey a sterile glove with a smirk.

Dr. Bailey slaps a glove on and removes the offending item from the board. She glares at her three girls and the item in her hand. She wasn't the best damn diagnostician in the hospital for nothing. She was a damn good medical detective. This was nothing. Well, the panties are green. She has never seen Grey or Yang in green. But more importantly the size. She glances at them and sighs. Grey is a size 0-2. Yang is a 2-4. Montgomery is a 6-8. These were an eight. Dr. Bailey hands them to Montgomery who has the good grace to close her eyes and stuff them quickly into her lab coat pocket.

Dr. Bailey gives them their assignments for the days and says, "All six of you! Do not make me regret setting you loose in this hospital. Montgomery! What do I mean by that?"

Addison says lamely, "Don't kill anyone and keep your underwear on?"

Dr. Bailey asks, "Are you trying to be clever?"

Addison says, "No ma'am!"

Dr. Bailey says," Better not be! Move it people!"

Later that day Meredith runs into Derek for just a second. He says, "I rocked that heart!"

She laughs and says, "Yeah you did."

He admits, "I think I am strung out on the scalpel."

Meredith nods and says, "Nothing wrong with that. By the way, I found that phone number you wanted in the bottom of my purse."

Derek asked confused, "What number?"

"You know. When we were hiking on Bainbridge. That property that was for sale. You asked me to write down the number."

"Oh shit! I forgot about it. It's probably way more expensive than I can afford. But I just love that area. Maybe the owner will sub divide and sell me just a few acres?"

Meredith smiled at him and said, "Can't hurt to ask? Listen. I have a gynie appointment later today. Go home without me."

Derek frowned and asked lowly, "Is everything okay? Do you want me to go with you?"

Meredith replied, "No. It's just a routine check up. I think I want to try that new fewer period pill."

Derek said unsure, "Okay Mer. But you would tell me if something was wrong right?"

"It's nothing Derek. I listened to what Dr. Bailey said before and I haven't been to a doctor in longer than I care to admit. I know better! I can't honestly tell patients to get regular check ups if I don't do it myself!"

Derek looked at her curiously and said, "Okay Meredith. But......"

She interrupted him and said, "I'm going to Mercy West for some frigging privacy. Everyone here knows our business. And I hate that!"

Derek nodded and his pager went off. "Shit!"

Meredith said softy, "Go. Just go! I love you."

He whispered back," I love you too."

A few days later Derek is walking down the hall in the hospital and says, "Meredith. The owner finally called me back. You won't believe it! It is karma! The guy that owns that property is the elderly man that owns Doc!"

Meredith says, "No way!"

"Not only that, but he says he will sell his property to me at a ridiculously low price! I assumed there was something wrong with the property, like waste or erosion or something! He doesn't want to sub divide it, but he is willing to sell me five or ten acres and an option for the rest later."

"And?" Meredith was excited for him because he was excited.

"Mer. I can have it appraised. But I just don't know."

"What's your gut telling you?"

Derek said with hesitation, "Go for it."

Meredith smiled and said, "Well there you go."

"Meredith! That land is worth a fortune. I doubt I could pay the taxes on it! I have an inheritance from a relative that is languishing in the stock market. I want to put it into land. Land is not renewable! Jesus! I sound like Oprah!"

Meredith giggled at his enthusiasm.

"I can swing five acres, probably ten. But I wouldn't be able to build for years. Is that a problem?"

Meredith said confused, "Well Derek. It's your money and your investment."

Derek looked around the saw no one. He cupped her face gently. "Meredith. It's a big decision. Can you live there? Do you want to set down roots in Seattle? On that property? Is it too far away? Is the commute on the ferry okay? This would be our property. Our house. You get that right?" He cocked his head at her and looked at her intently.

Meredith just stared at him. Derek looked into her panicked eyes. She rocked back on her heels a little and turned just slightly to see if anyone was around. Just then his pager went off and he said, "Shit! I gotta go. Just lean into the fear Mer."

She gulped as she watched him run down the hall. As she stood there she fought a severe physical reaction to the flight or fight syndrome.
