Derek was upstairs packing when Meredith got home three hours later. He had two open suitcases on their bed. She came bounding up the stairs into their room.

Derek looked at her smiling face and was relieved. He'd been going to visit Ellis with her lately so that Ellis would be a little distracted and not get an opportunity to verbally abuse her.

"So I take it went well?"

"Yeap."

"No issues?"

"No. Well except when I told her I had only missed two on the test. She said she was disappointed that I missed any!"

"Oh Mer honey."

"It's okay. I just reminded her that she missed five! Very sweetly of course."

Derek laughed and said, "Good for you! How do you know that? Surely she didn't tell anyone she wasn't perfect."

Meredith said, "Dr. Webber told me. We actually had an interesting conversation yesterday. Well, more like he talked and I listened. And then I had a great talk with Mrs. Webber." Meredith proceeded to tell him all about Richard and Adele.

Meredith started putting items into her suitcase and glanced over at Derek's.

"Um Derek. That's a big suitcase. We are only going to be gone ten days. And most of that is skimpy clothing weather."

"Mer. My clothes take up four times as much as yours. You're tiny and your clothes and shoes are tiny."

Meredith laughed as she looked into his suitcase. "And your hair products are big!"

Derek laughed and said, "You don't complain about my hair when you are clutching it for dear life."

Meredith admitted, "This is true."

Derek said, "I'm glad that Dr. Webber is going to check on your mom. So is Mark and Yang when they get back. They will be back before us."

"There are? I didn't ask them."

"I know. I did. I thought you'd worry less if they did. They both are fine with it."

Meredith sighed and said, "They are great friends. Thanks for asking them Derek. I thought about it but didn't want to impose."

"Meredith. They want to be there for you."

"I know, but it's still hard to ask anyone to help me, but I'm getting better."

Meredith started putting shoes and clothes into her suitcase. "Um...I have something else to tell you that happened yesterday."

"What's that sweetie?"

"I ugh......... made an appointment with......with Dr. Wyatt."

Derek looked up surprised, "Dr. Wyatt, the psychiatrist?"

Meredith gulped and nodded yes.

Derek came around to her side and quickly pulled her into a tight hug. He pulled back and stared into her eyes.

"You're going to start therapy?"

"Yeah. What do you think? I mean its pathetic and weak....and you probably......."

"No Meredith. It's not pathetic or weak. I am so proud of you."

"You are?"

"Yes. I wanted to suggest it every since you told me about your mom's suicide attempt. That was a serious trauma for anyone, much less a five year old. And on top of everything else, it's too much for any one person to handle."
