Laila was walking down the streets in New York after she ran away from the bayou after a huge argument about her werewolf gene with her twin brother Jackson.
she rented a small house in New York while she worked in a café there.
After she left New Orleans she had many thoughts about how she will have to break her curse one day or another. She would break it anytime but the problem was she wasn't ready,she didn't want to kill anyone she has a to kind soul for that.

Laila found out about the original family when she was a week in mystic falls and met Elena Gilbert and the others.when she found out about the ritual she met Elijah and klaus.Laila had a few fun nights with klaus but nothing more.and with Elijah she became friends but since she left mystic falls they didn't had contact again.

In New York she met a Werwolf which who she became quickly friends with.
One night they were walking around New York as a vampire attacked them but luckily Laila could run away and survive but the Werwolf didn't.
She grieved weeks until she decided to move on and continue her life.
