Heart in pieces, JK was practically marched out the room, down a service lift and shoved unceremoniously into a car that had been waiting in the loading bay of the hotel, no luggage, just his phone and what he was wearing. His manager had barely said a word.
This added to his pain because all of them where very close to their manager, he was like their unofficial father figure, go getter and general problem fixer... Well..this was one big problem he had to fix now JK surmised.
The car took off, he assumed the driver had been told where to take him. He didn't care, all he could think about was Tae's face as he said good bye.
He pulled out his phone, he wanted to ring Tae so badly but didn't know what he was doing or if he would get him into more trouble if he did, so he just stared at his screen for a long time feeling hopeless.
He opened his Internet browser and searched up Tae's picture, there were so many, including some of him and Tae together. ARMY fans had shipped them and called them Taekook, he had always secretly liked that a lot, but none of these images helped sooth his heart, closing his browser he opened his camera folder and there, the last picture on his real was him and Tae from last night.
Hair messy, lips swollen from kisses and joy in their eyes they'd stared at the camera, cheek to cheek and had taken a selfie.. This was proof that last night was real he thought hugging the phone, Tae was his and nobody was going to be able to change that.
He glanced out the window of the car, his stomach did a back flip when he recognised where he was being taken. They were going to his bosses building. What was going to happen? Would they get dropped from the label, what would they do if they did?
A nervous sweat was starting to break out but then his phone pinged and he glanced down and saw RM his leader had messaged him
" are you and Tae OK, im not supposed to be messaging you, higher ups have given orders but I wanted you to know me and the others have spoken and we are behind you all the way, if you go we all go. I personally might not agree with your life choices but you're one of 7 and that can't ever change. Don't get me wrong I'm still going to kick your arses, both of you when I see you lol how could you be so careless!? , but you're our brothers and our family, we love you "
JK read the message a couple of times to let his words sink in," could this really be happening? " he thought. He was about to reply when the car came to a halt. He tucked his phone away and braced himself before getting out the car.
The big man's office was on the top floor and JK had to take the lift,, once he had arrived he walked into a plushly carpeted area where he was greated by a secretary. She smiled a polite smile and bowed her head slightly. "you are to go straight in" she said and gestured towards the door, he nodded back and walked over to the set of double doors on his left .
Taking a deep breath JK placed his hand on the door handle and gently pushed it open.
There was no missing their CEO ' Hitman bang "as he was known affectionately. He had his back to the door and his hands crossed behind his lower back. JK stood there for what seemed like an eternity waiting for him to turn around. He heard his friend, mentor and boss sigh as he turned around to face JK.
JK expected steam to be coming out of his boss's ears but instead he looked sad and disappointed, "urggg!! thats worse" he thought, and lowered his head and waited.
Finally Bang spoke " right now i dont actually know what to do with you both, it may be my company but I have a board of directors I answer to now, i cant just say everything is fine. Do you understand what I'm saying?" he said.
JK wasn't completely sure but remained silent. He knew he needed to apologise but wanted to be clear in what he said and what he was saying sorry for, he wouldn't deny his love any more, not now he knew it was reciprocated...
He bowed low from his waist and said" I am so very sorry for bringing shame on you and this company. "he paused for a heart beat and then stood upright again and continued, looking Bang in the eyes " ill be more discreet but you cant break me and Tae up, i wont apologise for me and him " His bravado was only a facade, inside JK thought he was going to pass out with anxiety.
Bang seemed a little shocked that JK was speaking so casually but let it go for now," you're tieing my hands here "he said," regardless of your choice, your contract , the no dating clause specifically, has bound you to me and the group for at least another 6 years, you break your contract and you could lose everything, what about Tae? does he feel the same?? Is he willing to give all this up for you? , Ruin his life for what, love? "he scoffed, he was getting himself worked up now," and what happens when you break up?, it would all have been for nothing! Love is a fleeting emotion, chemicals in your head, use your brain!!!!, no one will accept you as a couple, it's not natural, what will your parents think as well.? You will disgrace your family, this company, your group members for nothing? "
JK was stunned, 30 seconds ago he'd been so sure but now.." Now what? "he asked himself. He suddenly felt very alone.
Since he was a young teenager he'd lived together with his group mates,, 90 percent of his decisions had been made for him, clothes, hair, education, now here he was expected to make one of the biggest decisions of his life, and it was one that affected the love of his life too. " Not possible right now, right now you both need to be seen separately, in different locations, so we can deny it is you two if need be, to be honest the picture quality isn't great and your faces can't be seen so I'm hoping we can ignore it.
I want you to go to Jeju Island, relax, swim, everything someone just coming off a world tour would do,, ill speak to a couple of my contacts and get some paperazti to take some pictures., I'm going to send Tae some where too and do the same. You'll have a week to think about your decision. "
JK was too stunned to speak, Jeju Island may as well be the North Pole for all he cared, he was being asked to choose between love and everyone's future apparently. Sometimes he wished he was American, or British, he figured he and Tae would have been accepted a long time ago, look at Elton John or the band leader of Queen just to name a few. One thing for sure he had a lot of thinking to do.. "ill do what you say, he said, ill think about it
