If I Could Turn Back Time

Y/N's POV

"Harry? Y/N?" came a voice. I began to stir and opened my eyes. I was in the Hospital Wing, laying in one of the beds. Harry was n the bed beside me.
"I saw my dad," said Harry.
"What?" Hermione and I asked as I sat up. Our voices were concerned.
"He sent the dementors away. I saw him across the lake."
"Harry, I saw that too, it wasn't--"
"Harry, they've captured Sirius. Any minute the dementors are gonna perform the Kiss," said Hermione.
"What?" I asked as I got up from the bed.
"They're gonna kill him?" asked Harry as he stood up from the bed.
"No. It's worse. Much worse. They're going to suck out his soul," Hermione told us.
Just then the doors burst open and Dumbledore came walking in. Hermione approached him as Harry and I followed behind.
"Headmaster, you've got to stop them. They've got the wrong man," Hermione pleaded.
"It's true, sir. Sirius is innocent," Harry said as I nodded in agreement.
"lt's Scabbers who did it," said Ron who was in a bed right behind us. His leg was patched up.
"Scabbers?" Dumbledore asked in a surprised tone.
"He's my rat, sir. He's not really a rat. He was a rat. He was my brother Percy's rat. But then they gave him an owl--"
"--It's Peter Pettigrew, sir," I interjected to stop Ron from rambling. "He framed Sirius and hid with Ron's family. We know the truth," I said.
"Please believe us," Hermione pleaded.
"l do, Miss Granger. But I'm sorry to say the word of four thirteen year-old wizards will convince few others."
Dumbledore walked past us towards Ron and patted his injured ankle. I winced as Ron groaned in pain. "A child's voice, however honest and true...is meaningless to those who have forgotten how to listen."
Dumbledore then looked up as though he realized something. "Mysterious thing, time. Powerful...and when meddled with, dangerous," he said as he walked right past us.
"Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower."
Dumbledore turned around and face Hermione. "You know the laws, Miss Granger. You must not be seen. And you would do well, l feel, to return before this last chime."
Dumbledore walked towards us. "If not, the consequences are too ghastly to discuss. If you succeed tonight...more than one innocent life may be spared. Three turns should do it, I think," Dumbledore said with a wink. I think Hermione and I were the only ones who knew what Dumbledore was talking about. He made his way to the double doors of the hospital wing but he stopped and peaked back out before the doors were fully closed.  "Oh, and by the way. When in doubt, l find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck."
Dumbledore shut the doors.
"What the bloody hell was that all about?" asked Ron.
"Sorry, Ron, but seeing as you can't walk..." Hermione trailed as she took out her time turner that only I out of Harry and Ron knew about. She wrapped the time turner around herself, Harry and I. Harry tried to touch it but, Hermione slapped his hand away. Hermione turned the time turner three times and everything around us started to speed up and retrace backwards. I could see the look on Harry's face was one of confusion. Time stopped and Hermione took the time turner off of us.
"What just happened? Where's Ron?" asked Harry as Hermione looked at the clock above the doors to the hospital wing.
"7:30," Hermione said before turning around and facing us. "Where were we at 7:30," asked Hermione.
"I was at Hagrid's," I said.
"I don't know. Going to Hagrid's?" Harry said in a confused tone as Hermione grabbed hold of both of us.
"Come on. And we can't be seen," Hermione said as she pulled us along. The three of us broke out in a run out of the hospital wing and towards the courtyard. We crossed the courtyard and ran down the outside corridor.
"Hermione! Y/N, wait!" Harry yelled as he fell behind. We reached the end of the corridor right outside to the field that would lead you to Hagrid's Hut.
"Hermions, will you please tell me what it is we're doing?" asked Harry as we all stopped. I saw the past Hermione, Harry, and Ron with Draco, Crabbe and Nott.
"This is not normal," Harry said, trying to get a better look but, Hermione drew him back and pinned him up against the wall. She took out her time turner to show him.
"This is a time turner, Harry. McGonagall gave it to me first term. It's how I've been getting to my lessons all year," Hermione explained.
"You mean we've gone back in time?" Harry questioned.
"He's a bright one, isn't he?" I said sarcastically. Hermione rolled her eyes at me.
"Yes. Dumbledore obvoiusly wanted us to return to this moment," Hermione explained before she turned back around and peaked the corner. I turned the corner in unison with Harry.
"Clearly, something happened he wants us to change," Hermione said right as I saw past Hermione punch Draco in the face.
"Good punch," Harry and I said in unison.
"Thanks," Hermione said proudly. "Malfoy's coming," Hermione said before she pushed us away towards a hole in the wall that was conveniently there. As we jumped out, I overheard Malfoy say "Not a word to anyone understood? I'm gonna get that jumped up mudblood. Mark my words."
I didn't have time to react to his comment because the three of us started to creep towards the edge. We peaked over the edge and I saw past Harry, Ron, and Hermione disappear down the hill. We slowly got up and walked towards the stone hedges.
"Look. Buckbeak's still alive," Harry said, happily.
"Well, duh, Harry. We turned time back to right before his execution," I remarked.
"Of course!" Hermione said in realization. "Remember what Dumbledore said? Remember what Dumbledore said? If we succeed, more than one innocent life could be spared," Hermione quoted.
"I though that made it quite obvious," I said with a shrug.
"Let's go," Hermione urged.
The three of us walked down the stairs towards Hagrid's Hut. We eventually broke from the path to hide behind some large pumpkins. We ducked behind them and I could hear our voices echoing from Hagrid's Hut. We heard another group of voices coming from behind us over the sound of the crows cawing. It was Dumbledore, Fudge, and the executioner.
"Here they come. l'd better hurry," Harry said as he started to stand up but Hermione grabbed him and pulled him back down.
"Fudge has to see Buckbeak before we steal him," said Hermione.
"Yeah, or else Hagrid will be blamed for his escape and it could cost him his job," I explained. We watched ourselves from inside the hut. Hagrid was giving Scabbers--or--Peter Pettigrew back to Ron.
"That's Pettigrew," Harry growled. He tried to stand up again but both Hermione and I grabbed him.
"Harry, you can't," said Hermione.
"That's the man who betrayed my parents. You don't expect me to just sit here," Harry said as he made another attempt to stand.
"Harry, you idiot, come back here," I said as I pulled him away and further down the pile of pumpkins.
"Y/N's right, Harry. You're in Hagrid's Hut now. If you go bursting in, you'll think you've gone mad," Hermione explained.
"Not to mention, seeing yourself from the past can rip a hole in the time-space continuum. We can't be seen," I interjected.
"Fudge is coming," Hermione said before turning back towards the hut. "And we're not leaving," she said, confused. "Why aren't we leaving?"
I looked down at the pumpkins and saw some very familiar looking rocks. I picked one up and threw it at Hagrid's window.
"Are you mad?" asked Harry as I ducked down. I then grabbed another rock and threw it at past Harry's head.
"Ow!" Past Harry yelled. I then looked and saw Harry wince.
"That hurt," he said.
"Sorry that you couldn't pay attention," I said. The three of us peaked out the corner and we saw Dumbledore, Fudge, and the executioner being let in by Hagrid while past Hermione, Harry, Ron and I were sneaking out the back.
"We're coming out the back door. Go!" Hermione urged as the three of us stood and stayed low. We went to hide in the forest behind some trees. The past us hid behind the pumpkins we were at. I had to say, it was weird to see myself right in front of me.
"Is that really what my hair looks like from the back?" Hermione asked before she stepped on a twig.
"Hermione," Harry whispered as Hermione quickly hid herself.

"What?" Past Harry questioned.
"I thought I just saw...Never mind," Past Hermione muttered.
"Let's go," said Past Ron.

Once the past us scampered away, Harry, Hermione and I returned to the patch of pumpkins.
"Okay, go, Harry, Y/N. Go," Hermione urged to Harry. Harry stood up and started to walk out of the way of the patch of pumpkins and towards Buckbeak. I followed in persuit. There were crows everywhere. I hated crows. More now then I have before. Some crows started picking Harry's feet.
"Get away. Get off," Harry hissed at the crows as he kicked them away.
We got closer to Buckbeak and he looked up at us, noticing our presence. Harry and I bowed to him and Buckbeak bowed back. Harry went to grab Buckbeak's chain and was pecked by a crow in the process. Once Harry got the chain loose, the front door to Hagrid's hut opened.
"Minister, l really think I should sign as well," came Dumbledore's voice from inside the hut.
"Yes, very well. Perhaps it would be...."
The door closed and I sighed in relief. "Okay, Buckbeak. Come quickly. Come with us now. Come on," Harry whispered to him before he pulled on the chain.
"Harry, you can't force him up. You have to tempt him. We need food," I said. I started to look around as Harry continued to try and force Buckbeak up. A chain of dead ferrets caught my eye and I grabbed it and placed it around my neck. I pulled one of the ferrets off of the chain and went back to Harry and Buckbeak.
"Good thinking, Y/N!" Hermione whispered from behind Harry.
"Come on. Come on, Buckbeak. Come and get the nice dead ferret," I said as I waved the dead ferret in my hand. Buckbeak took attention to this and got up immediately with a squawk. I smiled and threw the ferret up, which Buckbeat beautifully caught in his mouth. I started to step backwards. "Come on. It's here. Come on, Beaky!" I urged as Dumbledore, Fudge, and Executioner came outside. I paused and Buckbeak took the Ferret right out of my hands. I gasped and held my hands up as I froze in place. Dumbledore, Fudge, the executioner, and Hagrid were facing away from us. I grabbed another ferret and waved it in front of Buckbeak. Harry led Buckbeak away as he followed me into the forest. I gave Buckbeak the ferret and we hid among the trees. We watched as the four wizards broke out in a storm of confusion and disarray as they now noticed Buckbeak was missing. Buckbeak nipped at one of the ferrets around my neck.
"Buckbeak," I hissed. We saw Dumbledore and Hagrid go inside the hut before the executioner raised his scythe and execute a pumpkin instead. Phew, that was a close one...
