Thunder boomed and it was the type that could make dwellings feel like they were shaking, lightning flashed brightly and constantly, and the rain poured hard and unrelenting, the water poured down the glass of the windows the same way tears would pour down a person's face.

For Simon Lewis this weather symbolized everything he was feeling this night.

These past forty-eight had changed everything, after everything so far this year, it shouldn't seem like anything could cause any more pain but he was wrong.

He had revealed the truth to his mother about being a vampire, he had ignored Raphael's warnings and pleas.

"Mom please!"

"Get away from me you monster, you're an absolute abomination against God!"

She had made the sign of the cross and had grabbed a crucifix.

Thankfully it was dark so Simon knew he'd better leave before everything somehow got worse.

He had arrived quickly back at the Dumort, and thankfully Raphael had been there.

Raphael had taken Simon to their room and laid him in their bed, then had someone to call Magnus so he could go an administer some kind of spell or potion to calm her down so she wouldn't tell anyone in her hysteria.

I'm pathetic, Raphael always having to save me.

He heard soft footfalls and knew it was Raphael's

"Oh Mi Amor." Raphael whispered tenderly.

Simon flung himself into Raphael's arms and wept.

"You're always right about everything why can't I learn to listen to you."

"You just wanted to see your mother, you couldn't help it."

Simon kissed Raphael hard, Raphael returned it tenderly

Simon's hand went lower and Raphael hissed as Simon palmed him through his leather pants.

"Simon..."

"I know what I'm doing Rafe, I'm ready for this, I just want to forget everything for a while."

Raphael firmly grabbed Simon's hands, "This is why I can't allow this to continue, our first time shouldn't be like this with you so upset and unable to think straight."

"Raphael, I..."

"No, Simon, you need to get some sleep."

Simon's beautiful brown eyes flashed with anger, "I'm not a child!"

Raphael's eyes held compassion and love, "No you aren't."

Just then a knock came from the door and Magnus appeared.

"I don't want any of your freaking potions!" Simon screamed.

"I'm not here to give you one," Magnus replied, his voice also held compassion.

Magnus raised his hand and a green glow appeared, before Simon could blink it enveloped him and he felt extremely tired.

Raphael quickly caught him and placed Simon on the bed, he smiled tiredly at Magnus, the man who was like a big brother and surrogate father rolled into one person.

Having been rejected by both his mother and the man who he had thought was his father, Magnus better than anyone knew what Simon was going through.

"He'll sleep for the day, I made sure the spell would make him feel soothed as well."

Raphael sighed in relief, "Thank you, Magnus."

"Always, he has you and the clan, that will hopefully help."

Raphael looked lovingly at the sleeping man, "He's always been so tough and amazing...."

Magnus knew what Raphael was thinking, "He's forgiven you for your part in everything, you've proven your love."

Magnus came and put his hand on Raphael's shoulder, "May I ask about the mother? I've given her a sleeping potion that'll last eight hours, but what do you plan to do?"

"I plan to go there and use encanto on her, I'll her she needs to stay calm and that none of it was Simon's fault, at another time he would tell her everything and she just needs to just listen. Also to open her heart and realized he's still the same person and her still her son."

Magnus smiled, "Everything is now up to her, I'll get going."

Raphael smiled his thanks, Magnus knew Raphael could also be a deeply emotional one when one least expected it.

"When both of you feel up to it maybe you could catch a movie with Alec and myself, you know something mundane to do."

"I'd like that."

Magnus soon left and Raphael got into bed besides Simon and held him close, for now they'd rest, and when the rain was finally gone the next night, Raphael would go to Mrs. Lewis and use encanto on her, and then they would deal with whatever was thrown their way next.
