"Remus Black."

The second the two names left Remus' mouth, Sirius stilled beside him. They were laying beside each other in bed, in a comfortable silence, taking pleasure in just being there with each other.

But now there was a shift in Sirius. "I-what?"

Remus grinned, taking Sirius' hand gently where he placed a small kiss on the fist. "Well, I'm marrying you, aren't I?"

Sirius blinked, still in shock. It was true. Sirius had proposed a week prior and Remus didn't so much as hesitate when he said yes. But... but hearing Remus' name with his surname...

"You're not taking my name," Sirius muttered out.

"Why not?"

"Are you joking? No. I'm taking yours."

"Sirius Lupin," Remus muttered out and this time, Sirius felt a crash of butterflies in his stomach. "I dunno... doesn't really have the same ring as Sirius Black, does it?"

Sirius looked over, moving to stare at Remus with a look in his eyes. An unexplainable look like he couldn't believe what came out of Remus' mouth. He slowly moved his body so he could straddle Remus who was laying down. Laying down with a lazy grin playing at his lips as he placed his hands on Sirius' hips.

"You're mad, Moony. I finally get the chance to not be a Black anymore and you think I wouldn't take it? Completely mad."

"Mmmm... so that's the real reason you want to marry me, huh?"

Sirius rolled his eyes and tucked a lock of hair behind his ear. "Yes, that's why."

"Sirius Lupin," Remus said again, his hand moving a few inches down, thumb gently rubbing at the spot at the top of Sirius' thighs. "You want my name?"

Sirius was blushing lightly but he let out an airy laugh. Something that was a mix between a laugh and a gasp. "More than anything. I want your name more than anything in this world, Moons."

Remus' grin widened. "Come here."

And Sirius didn't hesitate, leaning down to kiss Remus. Kissing those familiar lips, touching his familiar face, familiar hair, familiar scars. So familiar. More familiar than anything in the world. It wasn't new to anyone in the world, but Sirius knew that there was nothing more right than him and Remus. Nothing more correct in this world than that. And when they pulled away, Remus was still grinning.

"What?"

"Okay."

"Okay?"

Remus laughed and it was such a beautiful sound. He reached up to tuck a hair behind Sirius' ear again and rested it on his cheek.

"Okay. You can take my name, darling."
