Dragon's curse

chapter twenty two

I had a bad dream last night and I hope I never have it ever again but we all want what we can't have right? I have been having this dream more often, I used to have this dream once every year and now it is once a month. Enough about my dreams, I hope Jeff will be alright, he said that we were being followed by an old man but I know he was using a spell to disguise himself. Jeff thinks he is a hunter and I think he might be right about that, that worries me a lot. I think Jeff is a half breed but of what type, I have no idea.

The next day, Jeff woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door as he slowly opened his tired eyes. He then got up from his bed and walked over to Ash’s bed, Jeff placed his hand on her shoulder to wake her up from her slumber. Jeff shook her slightly and Ash moaned in her sleep as she flipped over to her other side.

“Just five more minutes uncole.” she said in a low tired voice as she kept sleeping.

Jeff sighed as he shook his head from side to side as he shook her slightly once more and said “Ash…Ash there is someone at the door.”

Ash asked in a tired voice, “Who is it?”

“I think it is the hunter from yesterday but I can't be sure.” said Jeff in a semi conscious voice.

Ash opened her tired eyes and got out of her bed, she then walked over to the door with Jeff close behind. They stood still for a moment as another knock at the door came in an instant and for a moment, they jumped in surprise from the knock on the door.

Ash asked through the door, “Who is it?”

There was no reply and Ash said, “Look, I don't know who you are but I want you to back away from the door.”

There was the sound of footsteps backing away from the door and stopped, there was an unnerving silence fell upon them. Ash sighed as she walked over to her backpack and picked it up while walking back over to the door in one moshen. Jeff looked at Ash with a concerned look on his face as he waited for something to happen.

Ash asked as she looked at Jeff, “Now what's that look for?”

Jeff asked “What should we do? I mean should I wait a few minutes after you leave… or what?”

Ash smiled as she replied “I will go first and I want you to wait an half hour. Then you can start walking to your town and I won't have to worry  about you.”

There was a moment of silence as he started to say, “I…” but stopped immediately. 

Ash saw that he wanted to come with her and he said, “Go home Jeff, live a normal life that I can't do, find a wife and have kids that will grow up to have grandkids. That is what I think you should do but I can't control what you choose to do with your life. You are the one that chooses your life and chooses the path that you want to take.”

She then opened the door to the old man standing outside the door with a sinister look on his face as he waited for her to exit the room.

Ash said under a low voice but slightly loud enough for the man to hear her, “You leave him out of it.”

She then walked out of the door and out of the hotel in an instant, Jeff felt lonely at that moment. Jeff waited thirty minutes and time passed by quickly, once thirty minutes passed by, Jeff the hotel. He slowly started heading out of town in an instant, he slowly looked around at his surroundings as he had this nagging feeling that filled him. It felt like someone was following him, he quickly picked up the speed and started walking a little bit faster. Suddenly there was a loud thumping sound filled with a pain in the back of his neck as Jeff quickly blacked out as he fell to the ground.  

A man's voice said in the distinct, “You are connected to Ash so that means I can get through her by getting through you and breaking you down. We are going to have some fun together, you and me.”
