chapter twenty eight

I hope Electro is giving that kid hell, he really beat Jeff until he was near death. I am surprised he survived that but his jaw is still slightly busted up and he has a few broken ribs that haven't healed quite yet.

Jen slowly wiped his tears away from his face as he got up from the chair he was sitting in and said with a smile, “I have never had a second chance so I would like to have a second chance if possible.”

Electro quickly smiled as he started to walk up the stairs and Jen followed close behind, once they were outside of the bunker they started walking towards the house. After a few moments, they quickly walked into the house to see Jeff was sitting next to Ash. Most of his bruises and broken bones were healed but his Jaw looked as if it was still busted.

Ash looked over in amazement as Jen walked in through the door, she quickly asked in anger as she quickly stood up defensively, “Why isn’t he tied up?”

“Calm down, he isn't going to hurt you any more.” Electro replied instantly as he walked over to stand in front of Jen.

Ash quickly said in anger, “Calm down, Calm down! He torched Jeff till he was almost at the end of his life and he was going to torcher me in the praseas!”

Jen quickly walked past Electro as he said “I hope you can forgive me for that and I understand if you will never forgive me for what I have done. I wouldn’t blame you if you Just killed me right now, I deserve it.”

Electro quickly said “Jen.”

Ash immediately said with a hint of anger in her voice, “Stay out of this Electro.”

Immediately, Electro stayed quiet as Ash thought about what she was going to do with Jen and for a moment she thought about hurting him like he did to Jen.

Jeff sighed as he stood up from the couch and turned to face Jen while he said “As long as you don't do it again, you will be fine.”

Ash asked with a hint of anger in her voice, “Do you even care about the people that you tortured?”

Jen was quiet for a moment before he replied “I did on my first job and I got tortured for that. After that day, I havent felt anything for the people that I have tortured af that.”

Ash sighed as she said with a hint of guilt in her voice, “Fine but you better stay away from me until I can figure out what I am going to do with you.”

Jen quickly said in apologetic voice, “I understand and I am sorry about torturing you Jeff.”

“I will for give you as long as you find a new job and quit torturing people. You are way too good for that kind of job.” Jeff said with a smile.

Jen smiled back as he said “You have a deal. I will find a new job but I cant gerantie that it wont have to do with torturing people.”

Two weeks later, Jeff helped Electro grab the horses from the barn while Ash and Jen were in the house packing their belongings. Jeff and Electro quickly cleaned the horses shoes, placed the sattil on each hors as if they had done it a million times before. Once the horses were ready for the road, Jeff and Electro brought four horses out of the barn. They quickly walked the horses over to the front of the house and tied the rope to the railing and for a moment Jeff thought to himself, are they still packing.

Jeff then walked over to the front door and opened it while yelling “Ash, the horses are ready!”

Ash yelled through the hallway as she placed her last shirt in a small duffel bag, “Alright, we are in the bedroom.”

“Don't worry Jeff, Ash is all done and she is just helping me finish packing.” Jen yelled as he placed a pair of pants into a small backpack.

Jeff shook his head from side to side as he smiled with delight, he then yelled back, “Alright but hurry up before I come in there and pack for you both.”

Ash smiled as she yelled sarcastically, “Yea right, I would like to see that.”

After a few more minutes Ash and Jen finished packing their things, they walked out of the house with three bags in each hand.

Electro asked with a slight smile, “And you wanted him to stay away from you and oh my god, how much did you pack?”

Ash giggled for a moment as she replied “I need a lot of clothes just in case you dork.”

They then placed their luggage onto their horses and for a moment Ash thought to herself, why is there four horses instead of three?

Ash asked, “Are you going anywhere Electro?”

Electro smiled as he replied “I am going with Jen so I can pay for his sister’s surgery and help him enroll in the same company as I am in so I can be my student.”

Ash said in a surprised voice, “He is going to be your student, wow just make sure he doesn’t put me and Jeff on his torcher list again.”

Jen smiled as he said “I would rather die then put you two on my list again, I still have a bruise on my neck from where you hit me and if someone did ask me to torcher you or Jeff, they would have to pay me a lot more than money to do it.” 

“Good, now you are considered a friend and you can come near me now. I am glad to call you an ally.” Ash said as she mounted her horse.

Electro said as he walked up to Ash, “You be careful out there alright. There are some rumors floating around and not all of them sound very good.

Ash looked at him in confusion as she asked, “What do you mean by not very good rumors floating around?”

“The rumor is that there are some people that are bringing people back from the dead by rebirth and… there are some rumors coming from your hometown that they have seen your mother leaving town.”  Electro said with concern in  his voice.

Ash said in a stern voice, “Electro I am only going to say this once. My mother died a long time ago and my uncle put that in his hidden diary. I found his diary two days ago in my backpack when I was looking for something to read.”

“I am just warning you just in case, that is one of the bad rumors that are floating around lately and your mother hasn’t been spotted just in your hometown, she has been spotted in other towns as well.”

Ash sighed as she said “I will be careful Electro, I promised and I will keep an eye out for my mother. If she has been brought back to life then I will mostly stay away from her and try to avoid her. You should be safe too.”

Electro said “I am alway safe,” he then looked over at Jeff and said “You watch her while you two are on the roads and together. Ash is like a daughter to me and I don't want to lose her.”

Jeff nodded his head in understanding as he gott onto his horse and said “I promise I will keep her safe for as long as I stay with her and I won't let anything happen to her, you can trust me.”

Ash and Jeff quickly tapped the sides of their horses on their sides, instantly their horses started walking in an instant. Ash turned to see Jen and Electro getting on their horses, they started going the opposite direction on a small dirt path surrounded by woods. 

Jen quickly yelled to Ash as before they were too far to hear him, “I will make it up to you both some day, I promise even if it kills me.”

Ash yelled back “I look forward to it!”

Jen then disappeared into the dense forest in an instant and slowly the road that Ash was following with Jeff slowly turned into a brick road as they got further away from Electros house. After a few hours Ash and Electro exited the forest onto a brick road that led to the next closest town. They stay still in the middle of the road as the sun shines upon them as birds pass by over their heads.

Jeff asked “Would it be possible if I could travel with you Ash?”

Ash replied “I won't stop you but I think I put you through enough pain as is.”

“I am an outsider in my town and for the first time I know what I want to do in my life, I want to help you and be with you.” Jeff said as he followed Ash as her horse started to follow the road.

Ash smiled as she said “I know how that feels and yes you can travel with me.”
