I am going to tell Jeff's parents what he did, maybe that will make it a little bit easier for me to tell them the truth and if that doesn’t work then I have no choice. I will have to bend the truth but I am leaving Ash’s name out, that's the only way I can protect her. I’m not even going to tell them about my transformation unless I absolutely have to but I think that will never happen, at least I hope that never happens.

Ann replied, “Jeff said that there were two things he wanted to do but he only told us one of them, he said he wanted to become a guard for the town.”

Jaff sighed as he said slowly, “I um… I don’t know how you will like what I am about to tell you but… He became a monster hunter.”

“A monster hunter as in he hunted monsters for a living?” Shain and Ann asked simultaneously in bewilderment.

Jaff quickly replied, “He didn’t hunt all monsters, there are some monsters that are trying to coexist with humans. He only hunted the monsters that kill humans or try to harm them in any way.”

There was a long moment of silence before Shain said, “There is something you are not telling us.”

Jaff sighed once more as he said “I… I am afraid I have some bad news about Jeff.”

He slowly chanted a few words and the urn suddenly appeared as if he was holding the urn from the moment he arrived in town.

Ann asked, “What is that?”

Jaff looked to the ground as he replied in a sad voice, “This isn’t easy to say but I will just say it anyways. He slowly handed the urn over to Ann so she could see that Jeff's name was written on the urn as he sighed while he continued, “Read the name out loud.”

Ann slowly grabbed the urn from Jaff’s hands and read out loud, “Here holds Jeff J. Fox's ashes. Died on the fifth full moon of the dragon year. Jeff will be remembered as a hero by many people that he helped and protected during the time he was alive. He helped people and monsters alike as if they were all the same and there was nothing different about them.”

Tears streamed down Ann's face as she looked over at Jaff with a sad look on her face. She quickly placed the urn down onto the ground and walked over to Shain and sat on his lap instantly. Shain hugged Ann tightly as she cried tears of joy into his arms.

Ann looked over at Jaff once more as she said through tears, “Thank you Jaff, you brought our boy back home to us. You brought him home to his family.”

A shocked look came across Jaff’s face as he watched them smile at him with happiness and a hint of sadness in their eyes. Ann never broke eye contact with Jaff until the cettole went off and started steaming. She quickly got up and went over to the stove, slowly Ann grabbed the handle of the kettle while moving it off of the hot burner. Ann grabbed two mugs from one of the cabinets and placed them on the counter, she slowly poured the hat water into the two cups. Once the mugs were nearly full, Ann grabbed the handles of the mugs and brought them over to the living room.

Jaff asked in a sad voce, “Why?” Ann and Shain looked at Jaff in confusion as he continued “Why don’t you blame me for your son's death?”

Ann Slowly paced the two mugs on the coffee table while opening the small jore on the side that had what looked to be a bunch of coffee packets. She quickly grabbed two of the packets while closing the jore as she tore one of the packets open and poured it into one of the mugs.

Ann slowly replied as she tore the other packet open, “We don’t blame you because you brought him back to us. If you killed our son in any way, then you wouldn’t have brought him back to us so we would never blame you or hate you for that matter and we don’t want to.”

Jaff sighed as he took one of the cups and took a small sip from the mug, Ann did the same as the warm liquid ran down their thoughts.

Once they finished drinking their coffee Shain asked “I don’t know about you two but I am getting tired, how about you two?”

Ann sighed as she said “You are starting to slur on your words, go to bed. I will meet you up there.”

Shain slowly got up from the sofa and went up the stairs that led to their room as Jaff said “I think I will head to bed as well.”

Ann smiled as she said “Here, I will show you to your room.”

Jaff quickly got up from the couch and followed to his room, for a moment, he was surprised to see that his room was on the main floor.

Ann said as they reached his door that was next to the living room across from the stairs, “Here is your room, Try and get some sleep Jaff.”

Jaff smiled as he asked, “Thank you very much, oh hey… before I forget, can you knock on my door before you come into the room?”

Ann replied, “Sure thing Jaff, I will tell Shain to do that as well.”

“Thanks.” Jaff said as Ann started to close the door as she started to leave once Jaff was in the room.

Ann quickly walked up the stairs and went into her room while Jaff got ready for bed in his room. Ten minutes later, Jaff was in his gray boxers, he quickly walked over to his bed that sat against the wall next to the wooden cabinet that only sat a few inches from the bed and was  across from the door. Once Jaff was next to the bed, he quickly fell onto the bed in an instant from exhaustion and pain that filled his side once he hit the bed.

Jaff suddenly felt the pain start to spread through his whole body and he said in pain, “Oh no, not now.”

Jaff instantly started to transform, his human ears disappeared as his wolf-like ears grew on his head as they replaced his human ears and his nails slowly started to fall off as Jaff got up from the bed in pain, he slowly made his way into the bathroom that was connected to his room. Once Jaff made it to the bathroom, claws started to replace the fingernails that had fallen off with ease as his skin slowly turned black, Jaff winced in pain as he slowly transformed. Once his transformation was finished, he breathed heavily as he suddenly noticed that all of his senses were enhanced dramatically. The pain that filled his entire body quickly dissipated until the only pain that was left was the pain in his side. Jaff sighed in relief as he slowly closed his eyes for a second before opening them back up and went to his bed, he quickly laid back down onto the bed as he closed his eyes once more. Slowly, Jaff fell asleep from the pain, his body felt weak from the transformation and exhaustion to the point that he didn’t want to even move a muscle.
