chapter sixty eight

They are like one happy family, it is so cute when they argue with each other. I wish I knew how it felt to have a family like that but I guess in a way Ash is like family to me. When or if I get Rin and Lin to come with me so we can save Ash from her mother. I think I will split up from the group and catch up with my father. I have already finished my training with Wolf Fang on learning how to transform.

By the time the sun rose in the sky, all of the villagers were already up and getting ready for the day. Jaff slowly woke up to the sound of pounding as if someone was banging on the door and quickly opened his eyes from exhaustion. 

Fox moaned in his sleep as he said “Someone turn off all of the alarms please.”

Jaff asked as he slowly got up from his bed “Who is knocking on the door at this time of day, it is too early for this crap.”

Wolf yawned as he said “I wouldn’t open that if I were you.”

Jaff’s ears twitched as he heard people walking by the building and the sound of others arguing with each other. 

Jaff sighed as he walked over to the door and asked “Why shouldn’t I open the door?”

As soon as Jaff opened the door, Gray said “You will get hit in the face.”

Suddenly there was the feeling of someone hitting him in the face but Jaff didn’t flinch and a surprised look came across Blacks face as watched in awe.

Jaff said with a small hint of pain, “Ouch.”

“Akatsuki?” Gray asked in surprise.

Akatsuki sighed as he said in an apologetic tone as he removed his fist from Jaffs face, “Sorry kid, I am not used to people opening the door.”

Black said “You really should have listened to me when I said not to open that door.”

Jaff sighed as he said “It is rude to not open the door even if they are pounding on the door so early in the morning.”

Wolf sighed as he noticed that Fox was sleeping next to him without a care in the world, he then went back to sleep. 

Gray said “I am going back to sleep, wake us up in a couple of hours.”

Gray then went back to bed as Black slowly got up from the ground and quickly went outside of the building. Jaff slowly followed as Akatsuki shut the door silently behind him. The cold air hit him for a moment as his throat stung from the cold, chill air. Black and Akatsuki learned, agent the wall of the building across the street, Jaff slowly did the same as them. Akatsuki pulled out a small pack of cigarettes and quickly opened the pack up while holding it out to Jaff.

Jaff looked at Akatsuki in confusion as he asked “What is that?

Akatsuki replied, “It's a cigarette pack or as some people put it, they are cancer sticks.”

“You should stop smoking those things, they can kill you, you know.” Black said.

Akatsuki sighed as he said “You're one to talk, you smoke them too.”

Jaff chuckled as he took one of the cigarettes and stuck it in his mouth, black did the same as he watched Akatsuki do the same as Jaff instantly pulled out a small lighter and lit the cigarette as he drew in a deep breath while handing the lighter over to Black. Black instantly lit his cigarette as black drew a deep breath. Jaff watched Black remove the cigarette from his mouth as he exhaled, smoke came out of his mouth as he exhaled and handed the lighter over to Jaff. Jaff slowly lit the cigarette as he took a deep breath of smoke and watched Black exhale another deep breath of smoke. Jaff smiled as he exhaled a deep breath of smoke while he watched people pass by with their heads down as if they were afraid of them. There was a long moment of silence as they waited for more people to come out of their houses and get ready for the day. 

Black said blankly, “How long have you been awake Akatsuki? I noticed that you have bags under your eyes. You should get some sleep at least for a little bit.”

Jaff sighed as he said “He is right you know, you should get some sleep akatsuki and that goes for you too Jaff. The king and queen don’t get up for another few hours.”

“I can’t sleep and you know that Black.” Akatsuki said immediately while looking down the road to his left.

Black sighed as he said “I was wondering about something though.”

Jaff asked “What is it?”

Black replied, “Do you… Do you like Ash by any chance?”

“I… Let me ask you something first.” Jaff said instantly with a stutter.

Black sighed as he asked, “Sure, what do you want to ask me.”

“Does… Did Ash say she liked me by any chance?” Jaff asked nervously. 

For a moment there was silence before Black smiled as he said “She did mention that you were cute in her letters to me.”

Jaff jumped in surprise as he asked in a shocked voice “What?”

Akatsuki laughed with delight for a moment and said “Don’t listen to him, he is just pulling your leg.”

Black bursted laughing as he said “I’m just kidding… or am I?”

Jaff sighed as he said in an annoyed voice, “Make up your mind.”

Suddenly, the sound of bells rang as people excited their homes and got ready for the day. Jaff was surprised to see that there were hardly any monsters in town; he noticed that there were mostly humans that walked in the slightly beaten up streets. 

Black said as he watched people pass by them, “Well, times up. We should get the others up and head out to the casil.”

Jaff nodded in understanding, he quickly walked across the street while Black and Akatsuki followed close behind. They came into the building that they were staying in and quickly woke the other up while Jaff waited outside, once everyone was awake they quickly walked out of the building with an exhausted look on their faces.

Fox said as he yawned in exhaustion, “It is too early for this.”

Wolf sighed as he said “Yea, yea, yea. Just get moving so we can get to the casil already.”

Fox sighed as they quickly went down ten blocks until they were standing in front of the front gate casils. Two guards stood in front of the gates, Jaff noticed that the guards wore black and red suits. They also wore a black top hat while they stood in front of the gates in silence. 

One of the guards asked “How can we help you ugly monster.”

The other guard immediately said in an annoyed voice, “Jack!”

Fox said with a bright smile as he clenched his fists, “We are her to see the queen and king.”

A surprised look came across the guards faces as they looked at them with utter bewilderment. The two guards immediately broke out laughing for the longest moment and quickly stopped laughing after a few minutes.

Jaff sighed as he said “My name is Jaff, I am a monster hunter that only hunts monsters that do crimes and you two are definitely not humans.” 

A surprised look came across their faces as they looked at Jaff and said simultaneously, “You don’t know what you are talking about.”

“Are you sure about that, I could kill you two shifters right here and right now. I could do that or you could let us in and I won’t say a word about this to anyone.” Jaff said with a wide smile.

The guards said simultaneously, “Fine, you win.”

The two guards instantly moved to the side of the double gates to let them in as the doors opened up out words by themselves. Jaff walked through the gates with Black, Wolf, Fox, Gray and Akatsuki following close behind him. Fox noticed that there was a line of bushes surrounding the pathway that they followed through the grounds. Gay was surprised to see that the ground ouside of the path was filled with lushes, green grass and different colored leaves surrounding the brick path filled with optigan shapes through out the entire path way.
