chapter eighty eight

I think Ash took Jaff and is doing something that she may regret. I don’t know why but I have this overwhelming feeling like something is going to happen to her. I am going to the gods temple now, it was on the letter that Jaff got from Thanatos. That is the only place I think she could go at this point and I think she is going to sacrifice herself so that Jaff could get the antidote for whatever type of poison that Thanatos gave him.

As they walked along a small path that was covered in mud and rotting wood that stuck to the horses feet. Ash looked over towards Wolf Fang and noticed that he was using a spell that allowed him to walk a few inches into the air. After a few seconds of walking, they reached a small field that was completely empty. There was nothing but mud and dirt that surrounded the ground of the field with what appeared to be a run down with red chipped paint coming off of the Torii, the shrine was sitting in the middle of the field as if they were meant to find it. 

Jaff slowly asked, “Is this the place Ash?”

There was a long moment of silence before she replied, “Yea, this is the place. I think I’ve been here before but I don’t remember it though.”

Suddenly a voice rang out from behind them and in an instant they quickly turned to see that Electro was running towards them on his horse with a scared look on his face.

Electro quickly said in frustration once he was only a few inches from them and quickly hopped off of his horse, “What are you two doing here? I know you lied to me Ash, you wouldn’t have known to come here unless you did read the note.”

Ash quickly replied, “I can’t lose someone that I care about Electro, I won’t lose him. I lost Jeff but I am going to do whatever it takes for Jaff to survive.”

Jaff sighed as he said “You won’t lose me Ash, we still have a couple of days to figure this out. We can come up with a different way to cure me.”

Suddenly, a dark cloud hovered over the shrine as Ash said through tears as she dropped to the ground, “Alright, but I am sacrificing myself if we don’t come up with anything in two days.”

Electro sighed as he said “Alright.”

Jaff instantly said “Alright but I am coming with you if it comes to that.”

Electro slowly opened a portal that excited to Fire Hill and they quickly walked through the portal instantly with an exhausted look on their faces. Once they exited the portal and were in Fire Hill, Electro quickly closed the portal behind them. Jaff noticed that Ash had a sad look on her face as they slowly walked towards the cabin in silence.

Jaff finally asked, “Why did you want to go to the gods' temple Ash?”

Ash slowly replied, “I… I have dreams.”

“What kind of dreams?” Electro asked in confusion.

Ash sighed as she replied, “A god named Thanatos has been talking to me through my dreams. He said he would give me the antidote that will save Jaff.”

Jaff smiled as he said “I don’t want to be saved if it means you have to sacrifice yourself.”

Once they were inside the cabin, Electro quickly said “Go get some sleep you two.”

“Alright, fine.” Ash said as she walked over to her room and quickly went into her room.

Jaff quickly went to his room while Electro did the same and they quickly went to bed as soon as they laid down in their beds.
