Dragon's curse

chapter seventy four

I can’t get to her, no matter how many times I talk to Ash. I just get through to her, it's like she is locked away from being able to control her own body. We are almost done with that cage. It has taken us three days to build the cage, we just need to put her into the cage and then we can do the actual spell.

Electro came rushing into the small cabin and said “We are almost ready Jaff, you better get there right now before the others lose their heads.”

Jaff quickly got up from the bed that he was sitting on and quickly ran out the house. He quickly ran towards the Fire Hill in an instant, once he reached Fire Hill, Jaff was surprised to see that there was a meeting going on. Jaff quickly sat next to Rin and started chanting the words that every one else around him chanted, he quickly noticed that everyone that Ash knew surrounded Ash as she layed in a large cage. Everyone chanted the same thing that Jaff was chanting. Ash's claws tightened as if she was in pain, Electro quickly joined in the sercole of people that surrounded the cage and chanted along with them while watching Ash with a concerned look on his face.

Everyone chanted simultaneously, “Fire, wind and earth. Three of the five elements of nature, we ask you to help on this day. Help our friend and bring her back to us from the depths of her mind.”

Everyone repeated the same words three times as they sat criss cross on the grass covered ground. The sun slowly was blocked by dark clouds that appeared out of nowhere. Everyone instantly ignored the overcast and started to chant different words as they got onto their knees, they bowed their heads to the ground. After a few moments, everyone lifted their heads up to look at Ash and bowed their heads to the ground once more with a hint of submission. Suddenly, there was a loud clapping sound like thunder when a lightning bolt hit the large black cage where Ash was lying unconscious. In an instant, everyone stopped chanting and watched in silence as Ash’s scales started to glimmer out of nowhere like they normally did in the sunlight. 

Jaff said in a sad voice, “It's temporary.”

Electro asked in confusion, “What do you mean Jaff.”

There was silence before Jaff replied, “If the spell does not work then it will temporarily turn her back for three days. Her mother will take back control again after that.”

Everyone watched as Ash slowly changed back into a human in an instant, she quickly shrunk while her scales started to change back into human skin and her claws slowly turned into human fingers. Sam was surprised to see that Ash looked like she was an ordinary human girl with what looked to be red hair, her pale skin glimmered like diamonds in the sunlight. Ash slowly moaned in her sleep from exhaustion as she rolled over to her other side. 

Electro asked as he got up from the ground, “So, basically the spell didn’t work?”

Jaff replied in frustration, “Yea, that's right and we only have three days to figure out what to do next. There is a possibility that Ash will not wake up for those three days, she will mostly sleep for those three days.”

Lin instantly said “We will tell the others what's going on, you and Electro must be sleep deprived so go get some sleep.”

Jaff quickly said “I can’t sleep, I…”

Rin immediately interrupted Jaff and said in a demanding voice, “No you don’t and You are making no more excuses at all. You and Electro Bed…Now.”

Electro sighed as he said “Alright, we will go straight to bed and I will make sure Jaff goes to bed.”

Electro grabbed Jaffs hand and pulled him towards the small cabin that sat in the woods, once they reached the cabin, they quickly walked inside. At that moment, Jaff couldn’t help but be annoyed and angry at the same time. 

Electro asked in concern, “Alright, what's wrong?”

Jaff stayed silent for a moment but after a few more moments of silence he said, “I hate that I am so weak that I can’t even help Ash. It makes me sick to my stomach when I think about it.”

“I know what you mean Jaff, I hate it just as much as you do but we can’t go any longer without sleep. Do you even know what happens to a person that gets no sleep at all, including a half breed?” Electro said with honesty.

Jaff said in slight confusion, “If I remember properly, your organs begin to shut down for both humans and half breeds.”

“Come on, let's go to bed, mister smarty pants.” Electro said dramatically. 

They slowly walked past the two rooms that sat across from each other in the hallway that sat next next to the living room. Jaff was surprised to see how stravigent the cabin looked as he walked through it with a hint of a smile, his eyes quickly started to drift towards the chandelier that had diamonds dangling down from the silver chains. Once they reached the last door that they saw and quickly stopped in front of the black door with what looked to be an eye hole for Jaff to look through when needed.

Electro said with a smile, “That is mostly correct Jaff, the only difference is when a half breed loses control, they feed on humans to replace their sleep. It is like a substitution and… Well you may end up killing someone if that does happen. Anyway, here is your room.”

Jaff shivered in fear for a moment, he then said in a slightly nervous voice “Thanks Electro.”

Electro smiled as he went to his room that was three doors down the way they came from, once he reached the door Electro quickly went into his room instantly. Jaff did the same and went into his room and quickly went to bed as soon as he entered the room with a king sized bed.
