ADELE'S POV:
"Did you really go for a walk first thing in the morning, Adele?"
When Jake asked me that, both Bryan and Nicole choked on their meals along with me. Well, currently all of us were seated at the dining table, having our scrambled eggs when Jake thought it was a great idea to bring this topic up. Also, the one who created this idiotic excuse, Tyler freaking Scott, was in the kitchen making himself some coffee while I was left alone to answer Jake's haphazard questions.
"A walk?" Nicole instantly turned her head in my direction with a nonplussed expression shrouding her face, "It's a joke, right? Did you really go for a walk despite having a hangover, girl?"
"Of course, it has to be a joke! Adele and morning walks don't go together," Bryan shook his head, dramatically closing his eyes before opening them to cast a glance my way. When I returned him a dead serious stare, he contorted his expression in total disbelief, "For real? I mean, I could barely even open my eyes in the morning and my my look at you!"
"Oh, my gosh!" I grumbled, allowing a disapproved look to show on my face, "What's so shocking about it, goodness?! Can you all stop already?"
"Relax," Jake hitched up a brow at me whilst tilting his head and chuckling. Just by the way my brother snickered, I could tell right away that he was planning to pull my leg, "That was so unusual of you. I was worried you lost your mind, because of all the alcohol you consumed last night. Anyway, it's not very impossible for that to happen to you, no?"
I knew it. Why are siblings such a pain in the ass, gosh!
"Ha Ha. How funny," I zeroed my eyes at him, faking a laugh, "There's always a first time for everything, J."
At my response, Bryan suddenly let out a scratchy chuckle and followed by him, Jake and Nicole began laughing upon instantly comprehending the reason for his laugh. I initially did not understand what their behaviour meant but soon I rolled my eyes realising that Bryan must have interpreted my response as a lame double-entendre joke.
"I was talking about the walk!" I spoke with a clear voice which only earned me more touches of laughter from all three of them.
"Of course, sugar. What else could you possibly mean?" Bryan waggishly added between his laughter which only made them chortle even more while I shook my head and slapped my forehead with a sigh. Early in the morning and all of them were already playing with me!
How great!
"Woah, woah, what's the joke about?" Tyler marched over to us with a mug in his hand and proceeded to stand next to my seat while his other arm casually rested on the top of my seat.
"Adele just said 'there's always a first time for everything," Jake dramatically answered and I curved my mouth into a ruffled one while Tyler cracked up.
"Oh," Tyler fluidly responded, drifting his impish gaze at me, "I see," He added as a fleeting smirk strewed across his lips before he slowly sipped his coffee, "Where's the lie though? There is indeed a first time for everything, no, Hadwin?"
God damn! This attractive idiot! I was perfectly aware of the references and hints he made in his response. Obviously, it was about last night.
I rolled and turned my eyes towards him, giving him a pointed stare, which he charmingly returned with a coy look. Tyler then gave me a sly grin and I gradually tilted my head, returning him a very conceited-looking smile as we continued to share stares and looks. It felt like we stared at each other forever until...
"Er...oh, by the way!" Nicole suddenly edged in which led me to blink and turn towards her direction abruptly—only to see Jake giving Tyler and me dodgy looks and Nicole only tried to grab my attention to it.
