Chapter 27

Hope's POV:

I was sitting with Kaitlyn when she leaned over and whispered in my ear.

"Don't look now but a certain super soldier is headed this way."

"What are you talking about?" my attention on Emma.

"Hope, look up."

When I looked up at last I noticed that James was headed toward me with a look of determination, he stopped and stood in front of me but was silent at first.

"What's going on James?"

He didn't answer at first.

"Um, I was, I was wondering, ifyouwouldliketodancewithme."

The last part came out too fast for me to catch.

"I'm sorry James, you went too fast, what did you say?"

He took a deep breath, "can I have this dance," he held his hand out to me.

But before I could even answer, Kaitlyn took Emma out of my hands and replied, "of course she will let me take this little one, now go have fun you two," Kaitlyn push me to go.

I took James' hand and let him lead me to the dance floor, when we got there the guys were finishing a song, what I did not notice was the sneaky look they all gave each other before they started to play the next song. Still holding my right hand in his, he placed the other one at my waist pulling me a little closer so I placed my other hand on his shoulder and he started to move us to the music.

We moved slowly at first but then when the music started to pick up James gave me this little smirk before he twirled me away then back to him making me giggle.

"Yes though it's been a long time since I've danced so I'm surprised I still remember how to," he smiled down at me.

I didn't realize how comfortable I was in James's arms because I soon found myself relaxed as I rest my head against his chest listening to his heartbeat as we continued to dance.

We continued to dance for a few more songs not even paying attention to our surroundings. But what I also did not notice was that my mom, Kaitlyn, Natasha, and Wanda had gathered together close by watching us dance, and were joined by Steve.

"I was wondering if he was going to gather the courage to ask her to dance the moment he saw her enter the tent," Pepper said.

"You noticed that too?" Natasha asked.

"Please, you have to be blind to not see there is something between them, I'm just surprised it didn't happen sooner," Pepper said

"Oh no, Hope caught Bucky's eye the moment he first saw her, he just doesn't think that he's good enough for her even more so because of his past," Steve said.

"I know Hope and she does not care about that one bit, but she deserves so much after everything that's happened to her," Kaitlyn said absentmindedly.

"What do you mean?" Wanda asked.

Kaitlyn froze for a moment then shook her head, "oh nothing, just ignore me," she then quickly left to look for Daniel while silently berating herself for what she accidentally said.

Soon the band was interrupted to let everyone know that the food was ready.

"Oh my God yes, I'm starving, come on let's go," I said as I pulled James to the food table making him chuckle, I grabbed a plate for myself and handed one to James then started to fill my plate.

"What's good here?" James laughed at my full plate.

"More like what isn't, and it's only a little bit of everything," I blushed.

James laughed again, "don't worry Doll, I'm not judging you, I like that you have a healthy appetite, besides I like curves more," he whispered that last part in my ear making me blush more.

"I'm um, gonna go find Kaitlyn, thanks for the dance," I then scurried off.

Bucky's POV:

I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me as I watched Hope run off to find her friend, I also didn't realize that I was smiling like an idiot until I got to the table where Steve and Sam were at.

"Why are you smiling like that, actually how are you even smiling, I've never seen you smile," Sam said.

"I smile."

"Sam, leave him alone, he probably has a reason to smile," Steve smirked at me.

"Still it's weird to see you smile," Sam said again.

"Well stop looking at me," I huffed out.

"Alright you two, stop with the bickering, and let's eat," Steve said.

After everyone was done eating we were all just sitting around talking when I heard a small commotion, I looked around to see where it was coming from but then I started to hear clapping and chanting.

"Hope, Hope, Hope," everyone now was joining in

I look over to Hope and saw her getting up from where she had been sitting she was shaking her head and blushing.

"Okay fine but just so you all know I hate you all right now," I heard her say as she walked to the small stage where the guys were also joining her.

"What's going on?" Sam asked.

"I think she's about to sing," Steve said
