Bucky's POV:

I was sitting on top of the fence to the back pasture watching the horses when Winter walked over and stood next to me, I reached over and stroked her neck.

"Hey girl, how are you doing."

Winter moved her head up and down as of saying she was okay though just by looking at her I could tell that she was getting restless.

"Are you ready to go for a ride with Hope soon?"

Winter nodded again making me laugh.

I sighed, "What am I going to do Winter, where do I even start with Hope I really care about her and want her to be happy, I also keep wondering if she will be happy with me if I can give her the world," but then another thought pops into my head, "after everything I have done do I even deserve to have Hope in my life, do I deserve happiness?"

"When are you going to stop thinking like that, Buck?"

I turned and Steve was behind me.

"Because it's true, I don't deserve happiness and I don't deserve the greatest person in the world either."

"That is the biggest load of bull shit that I have ever heard, nobody more than you deserve love and happiness, Buck, and Hope would be lucky to have you just like you would be to have someone like her."

"Language and thanks for the pep talk, Steve, but I truly doubt that."

"Hope looks past everything, she does not see the former Winter Soldier, she sees the real you."

"But who even is the real me?"

"You are the same Bucky that I grew up with, he didn't disappear, maybe hidden for a while to protect himself but he's still in there."

"How can you be so sure?"

"Because I've seen him come out little by little since we got here, all these months that you have been here you have been at peace for the first time since I first found you, and that's because of Hope and the ranch, you feel at home."

I looked at Steve in shock at the last thing he said.

"Buck, I think you are home at last."

I looked away from Steve this time looking out at the pasture and seeing the horses graze in peace, was I home, it's only been almost five months since we first got here but I have never felt more at home than I do here. Without saying anything I jumped off the fence landed next to Winter and walked away, thankfully Steve didn't say anything and let me be.

I walked around the back pasture for a while with Winter by my side the entire time, as I walked I saw Shadowfax causing some mischief with some of the other horses making me laugh.

"He's come a long way since we first brought him here, huh girl," I told Winter who let out a soft whinny.

"Yeah."

We kept walking some more and saw Faith and Miracle who had grown quite a bit since she got here too, Faith was happily grazing while Miracle was nursing too, it still amazes me when I see them how far they have come from when they first got here.

And then it happened, how far have I come since I got here too, I start to think back and realized just how much changed for me, how much I have changed.

"Wow, this place is something, huh Winter."

Winter neighs and I look and see that she is looking toward the barn we see that Hope is back and she gets off Midnight and helps Morgan get down who runs inside the barn, Hope laughs as she walks Midnight inside too.
