Hope's POV:
After talking with Mom and Dad I left them in the office to let them look through everything. I decided to go outside for a little while though I wished I could take Midnight out for a ride to help me clear my mind but I knew that was a no go so instead I just walked over to the back pasture where the horses were grazing and went inside to just be near them.
I decided to settle by the pond, I sat down and took my phone out, as I was scrolling through my contact list I landed on Kaitlyn's number. I didn't want to bother her on her anniversary trip but I needed to hear my best friend's voice so I decided to text her instead.
"Hey, how's the trip going?"
"Good, how's Emma doing?"
"She's doing well, I did find her, her pony."
"Dear God help me, you spoil that child too much."
"She's my Goddaughter so of course I have to, well I'm going to let you go now, I just wanted to check up, see how you were doing."
"Hope, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, everything is fine."
Suddenly my phone was going off and it was Kaitlyn calling me.
"Dammit."
"Hello?"
"Hope Maria Stark, do not give me any of your BS crap right now, what's wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong, why would you think that?"
"Because I know you like the back of my hand now spill."
I huffed a breath, "They know."
"What do you mean they know, who knows and what do they know?"
"Mom and Dad know about what happened to me."
"Oh my God, Hope, what happened?"
"Something happened yesterday and so I called Dr. Price to request an emergency session today and everything came out."
"Oh Hope, how are you feeling?"
"Drained, I want to go for a ride but I can't right now."
"Why?"
"Yesterday James kissed me and I kissed him back."
I heard Kaitlyn squeal with excitement.
"You guys kissed, how was it?"
"It felt so right."
"So then what happened, I would think that you would be over the moon right now?"
"I was triggered by a flashback of the attack and I ran, I took off on Midnight and just left the ranch, I don't remember how far we got exactly but when we turned back to return a rattler spooked Midnight cause him to rear up and I lost my grip and fell, hitting my head on a huge rock knocking me out."
