Hope's POV:

After I met with Mark I was in my room with Emma and I took in everything that just happened, I was so lost in thought that I didn't even hear the knock at the door.

"Sweetie?"

I looked up and saw that it was Mom who was at the door.

"Hey, Mom, do you need something?"

"No, I was just checking on you, you've been pretty quiet since the attorney left earlier."

"Yeah, I just have a lot on my mind right now."

"What is it?"

"It's a lot."

"I have nothing but time if you want to talk?"

"Okay, though I'm not sure how you and Dad will take some of the news."

"I'm sure it's not that bad."

"Eh, hold that thought."

"Do you want me to get your father?"

"Can you, please, I don't want to repeat everything."

"Sure thing, I'll be back in a moment."

Mom left to get Dad, I looked at Emma.

"So, how do you feel about me becoming your mom now?"

Emma smiled and let out a giggle, a moment later there was another knock at the door.

"Come in."

Mom and Dad came in closing the door behind them, they both took a seat at the end of the end.

"What's going on, honey?" Dad asked.

"So you both know I had a meeting with Kaitlyn and Daniel's attorney earlier to go over their will."

"Yeah, what did he say?"

"Well basically they left everything to Emma but named me as trustee until she turns 18, and they had already named me her Godmother in case something like this happened to them, but there was an added surprise that I did not see coming."

"What was it?"

"Kaitlyn and Daniel had their attorney draw up adoption papers for me to adopt Emma."

Mom and Dad both had a look of shock and were at a loss for words.

"Wait, are you serious?" Dad asked.

"Yup, I read the papers from top to bottom and it was there in black and white, they both wanted me to adopt Emma if something ever happened to them."

"Oh my God," Mom was still at a loss for words.

But Dad had this knowing smile.

"And you signed them, didn't you?"

I hugged Emma closer to me as I peppered her little face with kisses making her giggle.

"Of course, I did, how could I not want to adopt this little gem, especially since I will never be able to have kids myself, so, Mom, Dad, I would like to formally introduce you to my daughter, Emma Hope Stark."

"Stark?" They both asked.

"They didn't want to hyphenate her name?" Mom asked.

"Nope, the attorney said Kaitlyn and Daniel wanted her to be fully mine, with name and all, and that once the paperwork is finished processing her new name will be shown on everything they left Emma."

"So, you did it at last, you gave me a grandchild," Dad said and he was beaming with happiness, "But what about Bucky?"

I looked up in shock, "What do you mean, what about Bucky?"
