Hope's POV:

Being held in James's arms felt so right, I felt safe for the first time, and it also felt like I was home too, I pressed my face against his chest as I took a deep breath taking in his scent, the feel of his arms, one cool and one warm keeping me in the moment.

I loosened my grip on him and pulled slightly away to look at him. I noticed in his cerulean eyes that he looked at peace and happy, I gently stroked his cheeks as I looked at him until he gave me a funny look.

"What are you doing?" James asked as he smiled.

I shrugged, "Nothing, you just look happy is all."

"Really, I wonder why that is?"

He slowly leaned into me again, "Is this okay?"

I nodded, "Yes."

I closed the gap between us and kissed him, his lips moved gently against mine at first until I felt him sweep his tongue against my bottom lip asking for entrance which I gave letting him deepen the kiss, but only for a few moments, and then he stopped not pushing me more then what I was comfortable with at the moment.

He took my hands into his own, "How are you doing since the accident?"

"Better, Dr. Grey let me resume work provided I still take it easy."

"Something tells me that you didn't the moment you hightailed it out of here on Midnight earlier."

I laughed, "You are not wrong there, we both needed it, plus Morgan wanted to fly," James looked at me confused, "She wanted us to go through the jumps on the country course, she loves going through them at full speed."

"Ah, okay, I remember and I can see why she likes it."

We both turned to check on Morgan and she was smirking at us as she continued to braid Midnight's mane, of course, she had seen everything.

"Let's go join Cupid over there before she burst from the excitement," James nodded in agreement.

When Morgan saw us walking over to her and Midnight she clapped with excitement.

"Alright you, calm down will you?"

"But I'm happy that you and Bucky are together," she said as she jumped into James's arms.

"Yes, but for now this is going to be kept between the three of us," I told her.

Morgan grumbled as she pouted, "Fine."

I kissed her cheek, "I love you, Maguna."

"Love you more, Sissy," Morgan hugged my neck.

"Alright, are you done making Midnight look handsome for Winter?"

Morgan giggled, "Yes, look," she pointed to Midnight's mane.

"Wow, Midnight, don't you look handsome."

Midnight bobbed his head as he tapped one of his hooves on the ground making us all laugh.

"I think he agrees," James said.

I chuckled as I unclipped Midnight from the leads but left one on him and led him to the pasture where Winter was waiting for him.

"Alright lovebirds, go enjoy yourselves," they both took off together.

"So, what do you want to do now?" James asked.

"Chores, we still have plenty of things to do around the ranch before dinner."

"Damn, I was hoping you wouldn't say that, Doll."

"Nice try though, let's get to work," I looked at Morgan, "Want to head inside with Mom?"
