Jada spent the evening hanging out with Black Widow herself as they waiting for the amazing Callie Torres to come home from work. Jada had the living room set up for her return with a few different choices of wine and various delicious desserts.

Jada learned so much more about Natasha outside of her being arguably the best S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. She also got more of an insight into Callie's life as an Avenger as her and Natasha went on many missions together. After hearing about so many of their stories, Jada was glad that Callie wasn't as involved with S.H.I.E.L.D. as she used to be. All of it sounded very dangerous and scary. If she still did all that now, Jada would probably be getting herself on anxiety medication while praying her girlfriend would come back to her safely.

As much as it sounded bad, Jada did not want to share Callie. She had no idea what she was going to do when the love of her life was back to work saving the world again. She desperately wanted to tell Callie to stop being Lynx but she couldn't. Lynx meant so much to the entire city and the world and Jada couldn't bring herself to be the one who put a stop to it. Jada really didn't know what she was going to do when that day came. And it was a conversation she didn't want to have with Callie.

On the other hand, Natasha had shared so many badass stories of Callie that it was slowly turning Jada on. And the badass was hers for the keeping. Jada wished Callie would hurry up and get home so they could forget about the wine and snacks and just go to the bedroom.

As if one cue, midway through Natasha's story, the door from the garage to the kitchen burst open and Jada did not expect what was unfolding in front of her.

Callie Torres was pissed. The hot Latina was in the middle of a screaming match in Spanish over the phone that Jada assumed was most likely her parents. Callie hated talking about her parents but the gist was clear. They did not support their daughter dating women.

Callie walked into the living room, grabbed a bottle of wine, ripped the cork from the bottle with her bare hands and set off toward her office. Jada watched her drink the wine right out of the bottle before she walked into her office and slammed the door.

"What was that?" Natasha asked. "I know she's got fire inside her but I didn't know the woman was capable of that."

Jada grimaced when they heard Callie start yelling again, neither of the women in the living room able to understand a single word she was saying.

"I'm guessing probably the parents," Jada replied. "She hates talking about them so I try not to bring it up but they pretty much disowned her for being gay."

"Fuckers," Natasha muttered under her breath.

"Tell me about it," Jada said quietly. "I'm going to be scared shitless if I ever have to meet them."

"I'm sure your babe would handle it," Natasha tried to reassure her.

While Jada just looked towards Callie's office, she didn't notice Natasha had poured both of them a glass of wine.

"Thanks Nat," she said gratefully. "I'm going to need a lot more of this."

The yelling would start and then quiet down for a few minutes, until Callie screamed something that absolutely broke Jada. She wasn't the best at speaking Spanish but from what she had learned she was able to piece together Callie's last words before the house went quiet.

I'm your daughter mom and dad, and your only child, why can't you just love me for who I am?

Jada nearly spilled her wine setting it down on the table as she put her hands to her face. Wow.

Natasha had obviously felt the mood shift in the house as she shifted nervously in her seat. Jada guessed from her work, she was able to speak quite a few languages and quickly realized what Callie had said. Jada guessed she probably knew a lot more of what Callie said.

Natasha stood. "I'm going to head out. Let me know if there's anything I can do," she said, giving a small encouraging smile to Jada.

"Thank you Nat."

After the door closed, Jada stood up from the couch to lock it for the night before making her way to Callie's office. She knocked slightly and tried to turn the handle, surprised to find it locked.

Jada knocked again. "Callie, can I come in?"

There was no response from the other side. "Baby, can you let me in?"

Still nothing. Jada pressed her ear to the door and tried to listen as hard as she could. She heard Callie set the wine bottle down on her desk with a thump. "Baby, please let me in," she tried again.

After no response, Jada heard Callie crying from the other side of the door. She tried the door handle again, but nothing. "Calliope, please open the door. Baby, I know you're hurting, please let me help you."

She banged her forehead off the door. "We don't have to talk about it," she said reassuringly. "I just want to be with you to comfort you. Please let me hold you."

"Calliope, I'm going to stand out here as long as I need to until you open the door."

"Baby, I want to help you. Natasha and I went to the store and got some wine and dessert, and I want to have a little celebration for your award today, just the two of us."

"Do you remember the promise we made to each other?" Jada asked through the door. "When we starting working in our offices? The no locking the door promise?"

As Jada had her mouth open about to say something else, she heard the lock click on the other side of the door. Jada hurriedly opened the door and behind it stood the most broken and vulnerable Callie she had ever seen.

Jada immediately wrapped her arms around her girlfriend as Callie tried to speak but couldn't. "It's okay baby, I know," she soothed. She was going to stand there and hug Callie for as long as she needed. Jada pushed the loose strands of hair behind her girlfriends ears. "I'm sorry baby. I'm sorry they treat you like that. But you know what? Screw them," Jada said. "You are beautiful. You are smart. You are amazing. You're my girlfriend. You are so many things. I love you so much Calliope Torres. And they just don't see how amazing you are. And they are missing out. You are a beautiful, strong, and independent woman, and you don't need them to treat you like shit. You are amazing and you're so much better than them. They don't deserve to be your parents. Okay? I know it hurts like hell right now. But you couldn't be more perfect. You are perfect. And they can go fuck off for not seeing that."

Callie had calmed down in her arms a lot. "Thank you Jada," she whispered. "I'm sorry today had to end like this."

"Well today isn't over yet so why don't we go enjoy some wine and cookies?"

"Yes please."
