They arrived shortly before the sun was going to fully set over the horizon. Callie parked the motorcycle in the small garage that was attached to what Jada was assuming was her cabin, and led her inside.

Jada was blown away by how nice it was. She was starting to feel like she was in the middle of the woods. Although it wasn't on the outside, the interior of the cabin was built to resemble that of a log cabin. Coming in from the front was the living room that housed a mounted tv on the fireplace as well as two couches and a lounge chair. Callie's room was on the wall opposite of the front door and to the side of the living room was a small kitchen and a hallway leading to the bathroom and spare bedroom.

"Your family really never uses this?" Jada asked, taking in the cabin around her.

Callie shook her head. "We did when I was younger, but my parents mostly rent out the rest of them. My grandma left me this when she passed away and I had to take my parents to court over it. This was during the whole finding out I was gay time too so they were using that as a reason to try and take it from me. But I won easily and if you notice there's a fence to the left of us, that's exactly why."

"They really did that to you?" Jada asked.

Callie nodded as she opened the fridge and grabbed herself a beer. "You want one?"

Jada nodded. "Yes please."

Jada watched her again pop the cap off with her bare hands before she handed it to her and grabbed a second. "Thanks baby."

"I was thinking later tonight there's a whole stash of some stuff that's a lot stronger in the cupboard up here," Callie said, pointing to the closed cabinet above the fridge. She stepped closer to Jada. "And that promise of having lots and lots of sex."

"I think that's what I'm most excited for," Jada replied with a big smile. "I think I'm going to surprise you."

"Well, I'm a big fan of surprises," Callie said playfully as she walked out of the kitchen and to her bedroom. "There's plenty of room in the dresser for your things."

Jada walked into the room to see Callie changing into a pair of dark leggings and a grey tank top. "Make yourself at home. I in the meantime, am going to start a fire because I make some mean hotdogs and s'mores."

Callie was right about the food. Jada had no idea what she did to make it taste this good, but she was loving it. Maybe it was how long the hotdogs were grilled over the fire or she put some kind of seasoning on them, Jada would never know.

"This is so peaceful," Jada admitted as they watched kayakers and boats going back and forth past them while they ate.

"Agreed," Callie said as she put her arm around Jada and kicked her feet up on the footrest placed in front of the outdoor couch. "It's nice to get away from the busy LA life sometimes."

"We don't even live in the city but sometimes it feels like we're always in the city."

Jada moved closer to her fiancée and rested her head on her shoulder. "I know baby."

She had closed her eyes and enjoyed the warmth of the fire when they were both startled by a loud noise coming from the water. Jada had no idea what she had just heard. "What was that?" she asked, knowing well that Callie could hear a lot better than she could.
