"Mom, I didn't know you were coming?"

Michelle closed the door behind her and came to give her daughter a hug. "I know Callie's been taking good care of you, but I couldn't not come check on my baby girl myself."

"Thanks mom."

"Callie said you've been doing so much better this last day and a half."

Jada could finally manage a nod without making her head throb. "Yeah, I feel pretty good. It just feels like a mild tension headache now."

"You look pretty good too," Michelle added, checking over her daughters face and hands.

"I got really lucky," Jada admitted. "I'm just gonna miss that car."

"I know the feeling honey."

Jada led her mom through the house and into the kitchen where they found Callie heating up some leftover chicken piccata for lunch.

"Callie!" Michelle exclaimed as she made her way around the kitchen counter to give Callie a hug. "Thank you for helping me get a ticket up here so fast."

"Not a problem, I'm glad you're here. There's a lot we need to talk about."

Jada sat and waited as her wife and mother brought lunch to the table. She had been sleeping all morning, and according to Callie, there had been some developments in her case.

The Oni team did a great job of keeping her name and pictures of the accident out of the news, leaving the headlines to give basic information only. All the public knew was that she was a popular Twitch streamer and the model of her car.

The other driver's insurance company admitted complete fault and they had the damaged Subaru appraised for the monetary value they would be owed by the other driver.

Jada had also finally watched the dashcam footage and it was bad. She didn't remember too much from the accident as the whiplash and impact of her face hitting the airbag was enough to knock her out a few moments later. Jada now understood why her wife went crazy on the other driver.

The other driver was seen swerving in and out of his lane as he approached Jada. He was going way too fast, especially for the conditions, and if he had been pulled over, the speeding would've gotten him arrested. He was distracted at the wheel when his car veered over the center lanes and crashed head on with Jada's Subaru. Jada was lucky she was able to adjust course enough for the majority of the impact to hit on the front passenger side. Her injuries would've been a lot worse if she wouldn't of done that.

Callie set down a folder on the table as well as her laptop. "The bitch finally got arrested," Callie said, and the way she said that made Jada smile. Both Jada and her mom listened as Callie read off all the charges against him.

"So," Callie began. "Do we want to go after him civilly as well."

"I do," Michelle was quick to answer. "My best friend is a lawyer who could help us out."

"Me too," Callie said. Turning to Michelle, she added, "the guy is a complete douchebag. I sent you all the interviews and stuff from the police."

"How does a civil case work?" Jada asked. "I'm sorry, I'm still a little fuzzy."

"Don't apologize honey," Michelle told her. "The district attorney is charging him for reckless driving as the main one. There's a few more but they won't lead to as much punishment. We can sue him too. Make him cover the medical bills and emotional distress and trauma he caused."

"I went to talk with the police about everything last night while Arizona and Kate were hanging out with you," Callie told Jada. "He didn't kill you or severely injure you so he's not going to get locked up for a while. But if we sue him on top of that, he's going to have a hard time coming back from it."

"We don't need the money though," Jada admitted, her head starting to hurt a little more from all the thinking.

"You're right, we don't," Callie agreed. "We're going to have to use money as the reason to sue, but I want to do it so that his bitch ass gets what he deserves."

Callie continued. "They showed me some of the interviews with him Jada. I'm not going to tell you much, but he didn't have much remorse for what he did."

"We're going to go after more than just the medical bills," Michelle said. "He's going to pay for your loss of revenue since you haven't been able to stream, and he's going to pay for Callie's as well."

Jada took a deep breath. "Is suing him necessary?"

"No," Callie answered. "But he messed with the wrong girl and he's going to get it from me. I will make sure he pays for what he did to you to the fullest extent of the law."

"I don't know," Jada admitted. "I don't know if I want to go through all the stress of the accident again."

"It's completely up to you Jada," Callie said softly.

"Do I have to decide right now?"

"No, but they're going to schedule a date for the trial soon. So if you want to bring a civil suit, we can bring it then."

"I would do the same for both of you," Jada admitted. "But I don't know if I need all this."

Jada didn't realize how hungry she was until she went for another bite of the chicken piccata and there was nothing left. Callie took her plate and put some of her food on it for Jada. "I know you're hungry."

"Thanks baby." Jada then thought aloud. "We have to go car shopping not for one car, but for two now. I know I want another Subaru but I don't know if I can drive another Forester after what happened to that one."

"The Foresters are one of the safest cars out there," Michelle said. "I think you should get another one."

"I just feel like I'm going to have memories of what happened getting into a new one."

Callie handed her wife a large sealed envelope. "It's from Subaru. It's brochures of almost all the cars."

Jada opened the envelope and immediately found herself looking at the 2023 Forester brochure. "Do you have any idea what you want?" Jada asked Callie.

"What we want," Callie corrected. "I am totally on board with getting another Subaru if you are. And I also said we'd get something nice since you didn't have a chance to drive the McLaren before I sold it."

"Okay," Jada said as she began to look through the brochure. "I want another Subaru."
