"Callie can I ask you something?"

Jada took a deep breath as her wife tossed her keys down onto the counter. "Yeah, what is it?"

"Do you still like Luke?" Jada asked. After the game today, Callie had went out for a drink with Luke. Jada was of course invited, but declined to work on some content instead.

"What do you mean do I still like Luke?"

"Like, do you still love Luke?"

"Jada, this is absurd, why would you think that?"

Jada just shrugged. She was a little jealous of how excited Callie was to go out with her ex-boyfriend. Usually Callie or Jada would turn down any offers to go out if the other wasn't up for it.

"I don't know, you just seemed really close with him after the game and you were so excited to go out with him," Jada rambled. "And you hugged him and put your arm around him like you do with me."

Walking past Jada, Callie banged her head against the fridge before opening it and grabbing a beer. "Why would you even think that?" Callie asked again. "He's my friend."

"You don't do what you did with him if you're just friends."

Callie sat the bottle down on the counter hard. "I am a lot of things but I am not a cheater," Callie replied firmly. "I've been cheated on twice, and I'm hurt you would even think of such a thing."

"But you dated him while we were apart," Jada said quietly.

Jada regretted bringing up this insecurity of hers because Callie was starting to get mad. "We were broken up!" Her voice started to get louder. "I waited for you and you didn't come back!"

"I thought you only got cheated on once?" Jada asked. "Arizona?"

"Arizona cheated on me and so did my high school boyfriend George."

"I'm sorry Callie."

"I don't want to hear it," she snapped. "I'm appalled that you would even think I would cheat on you!"

Jada came closer to her. "Calliope, that's not what I'm saying at all. You were a little intimate with him and it rubbed me the wrong way."

"So hugging somebody else is considered intimate for you now!?"

"Callie, come on I-"

"You're done talking," Callie said again very sternly. "I didn't know that I'm not allowed to go out with my friends without permission from you! I didn't know that I'm not allowed to hangout with him outside of work and games! You don't seem to have a problem hanging out with Arizona!"

Callie continued. "Look, I know you're going through some tough shit," she admitted. "But I do not appreciate getting ridiculed for going out with a male friend of mine. Luke is my friend. What I had with him was over the moment I chose you. We broke up on good terms and I still want to be his friend."

"I should've never said something," Jada said quietly as she looked away from her wife. "I'm sorry. I'm really insecure about this stuff..." she trailed off.

"I'm done talking about this," Callie admitted as she grabbed her beer and turned away toward the basement steps. "I'm going to workout. I don't need to be anymore pissed than I already am."

Jada watched her walk away and slam the door behind her. She had no idea why Callie going out with Luke bothered her so much. Leaning against the counter, Jada took a deep breath and gathered her thoughts. Trying to explain that something was up to Callie completely imploded in her face. And she for sure did a horrible job of trying to explain it.

After taking a little while to cool down after whatever the hell that was that happened earlier, Jada collected herself and headed downstairs.

"Callie?" she called as she walked down the stairs.

Upon reaching the bottom, Jada knew she had to get Callie to clean up her workout area. Weights, bands, and a lot of other stuff that Jada had no idea what it was for laid cluttered all over the floor.

"Calliope?" Jada called again.

She walked to the small entertainment area that was across from the basement bar that was used nearly every time they had friends over. Jada found her wife asleep on the couch wrapped up in blankets like a burrito.

Jada knelt down in front of her and slowly caressed her cheek. "Cals, wake up baby."

Still no response, so Jada tapped her wife's shoulder. "Cals?"

Callie yawned and slowly opened her eyes. For a split second, her eyes sparkled with excitement as she was excited to see her wife. She then remembered that she was currently mad at Jada.

"Hey baby," Jada whispered as she gently kissed her wife's forehead.

Callie rolled over to face the other way. "Calliope, look at me right now."

"I don't want to talk about this right now," Callie replied through all the layers of blankets.

"We're talking about this now because I'm sorry for bringing that up the way I did. I did not mean to at all, to accuse you of cheating on me. I know you never would. My insecurities are acting up again and that's how I noticed it."

"Why didn't you just tell me you didn't want me going out with Luke?"

"Because I can't tell you that," Jada answered. "I'm not going to control you. I just missed you a lot tonight, and I'm sorry I let me missing you get me all worked up for no reason."

"I think we should make another appointment," Callie said flatly.

Jada agreed. "I think so too." She then asked, "can I join you?"

Callie lifted the blanket and made room for Jada to cuddle up behind her. "I'm sorry baby," she whispered into Callie's ear. "I'm a mess and I'm sorry I find a way to piss you off when I have one of my moments."

"Please tell me if you're feeling insecure before I do whatever it is that's making you feel insecure," Callie replied quietly. "That way we can work through it together."

Jada buried her face into Callie's neck and hair. "I really don't deserve you," she whispered. "I find a way to fuck everything up."

"Stop," Callie pleaded from in front of Jada. "That's part of what makes you, you Jada. I love every part of you. Neither of us are perfect."

"You're pretty perfect," she whispered as she kissed Callie's neck.

"You know what I mean," Callie teased as she began to roll over. "It's all good babe, I promise."
