Jada was given her wristband and walked inside the hospital with Becca, Rachel, and Natasha who Callie insisted came along for protection purposes. Callie was presenting her research today in front of the committee and fellow doctors. Jada had of course been immediately invited and Callie also instructed her to bring her friends. The four girls walked up the stairs of the conference room and sat at the very top.

Callie was back at the hospital for the first time in a while today to do her presentation. The threat they had encountered around a month ago was nearly under control, with agents now tracking the men in Europe. She was gone before sunrise this morning and Jada hadn't seen her since, but she texted her back and forth a lot today. Jada pulled out her phone to send her girlfriend one last text wishing her luck and stowed it in her jacket pocket. Every time Jada felt the inside of her coat pockets she keep mildly freaking out for a second about the car keys that weren't there. And then she remembered she brought Callie's Tesla which didn't have a key. It was so much easier for parking arrangements as it was very hard to find parking around this hospital if you didn't work there.

Callie came in a few minutes after they arrived wearing her white lab coat over her scrubs just like every other doctor in the room and immediately scanned the room for Jada. Upon finding her, Callie shot her a loving smile and quickly pulled out her phone to respond to her text.

The room began to fill up with Callie's colleagues as well as the committee she was presenting to. Getting this grant for her research would completely change her career for the better. She had finally perfected her presentation and demonstration of the artificial cartilage she'd created.

"Jada," Becca said with a smile. "When are you going to put a ring on your hot Latina's finger?"

"We talked about this," Jada started.

"Yeah we talked about it, but why haven't you done it?" Rachel asked.

Jada pursed her lips. "We're only been together like six months," she admitted. "I don't know if that's grounds for that yet."

"Have you two even talked about it?"

"We have."

"And what did she say."

"She wants too," Jada answered. "But I don't know, I feel like six months is way too soon."

Jada's friends had become close to Callie. So close that the considered her one of their own. And with that bond came the questions about when they were going to get engaged.

"What does your heart say?" Rachel questioned.

"That I want to do it."

"Then you should."

"I'm just nervous," Jada admitted.

"Nervous about what?"

"That it's too soon, that she's not ready, and I have no idea how I'd even ask her," she rambled. "She's been engaged already," Jada said to her friends quietly. "What if my proposal doesn't live up to it."

Speaking of Callie being engaged previously, the girls watched the blonde walk in and make her way over to Callie. "I hate that bitch," Jada said.
