Callie didn't come home until dinner time. And she looked absolutely exhausted. "How did everything go?" Jada asked from the couch.

She threw all of her stuff down and came to join her. "Had a trauma surgery at 5 am that took three hours. And then another one came in right as I was about to leave. It was a car accident and it was really bad. I couldn't save the patients legs."

"I'm sorry Callie, but I know you gave it your best."

She managed a small smile. "I know but I always feel like I could do more."

"I'm sorry."

"How was your day with Jess?" Callie asked, changing the subject.

"It was really good. We had fun."

Callie's smile widened. "I'm glad. And I'm sorry I wasn't home all day."

"It's okay. Really it is."

"Are you staying here again tonight or are you going home?"

"Would I be invited to stay another night?" Jada asked.

"I didn't think I would have to invite you," Callie answered. "You're always welcome."

That made Jada smile as she moved closer next to Callie on the couch. Every minute Jada spent with Callie, she fell harder and harder for her. She just wanted to cement this thing between the two of them in stone. It was obvious she liked Callie, like a lot, and Callie felt the same way back. And Jada couldn't keep her eyes off Callie. Tired Callie was also really hot Callie. Callie in general was also really hot Callie.

"Calliope?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I kiss you?"

"You don't even need to ask."

And Jada did. She kissed Callie with such force she felt her have to catch herself from falling back. Callie's lips were so soft. Jada also didn't know how far Callie wanted to take it, so after the quick peck she rested her forehead against Callie's.

"Hi," she whispered.

"Hi," Callie whispered back.

Jada tried to get her attention by flipping her gaze back and forth between her eyes and lips. Callie quickly got the hint and nodded allowing Jada to kiss her again. It lasted a second or two longer than the first and ended with Jada pressing her hand against Callie's cheek. The following kisses only intensified as Jada got a taste of Callie's tongue. The kisses paused.

"Calliope?"

"Yeah?"

"I-" Jada stuttered.

That got Callie's attention. "You okay? Did I do something?"

She quickly shook her head. "No, no, not at all. I'm okay."

"Okay. What did you want to ask me?" Callie questioned.

Jada didn't know how to say it. "Uh..." she couldn't get the words out. "It's nothing actually."
